Young Man Catches Woman Falling from 11th floor with Bare Hands

02:01
A young man caught a woman falling from a building's 11th floor with bare hands on Wednesday in Enshi City in central China's Hubei Province. The surveillance video footage showed Feng Ning running in front of the building at around 21:45. He kept changing his position while looking up to the building; seconds later, the woman fell right into his arms. Due to the huge impact, Feng was immediately knocked down on the ground and was carried to one side of the street by the locals. Feng said he was walking out of a restaurant when he heard someone crying for help from the nearby residential building. He then saw a woman hanging from the 11th floor window. "I ran to the building, but she had already fallen before I could reach the entrance. So I got ready to catch her instead. I don't know what happened next," said Feng. "There was a loud noise, as if it was an earthquake. Then I heard the young man screaming in pain," said a local witness. "The young man cried and cried while sweating badly. He looked as if he was in a great pain," said another witness. Feng was sent to the hospital, but the woman did not survive unfortunately. "Feng suffered injuries on his knee joints, and had a tibial plateau fracture. His anterior and posterior cruciate ligaments and the medial ligament have been dislocated," said Li Yanbing, doctor of spinal surgery department, Enshi Central Hospital. Feng joined the army as a college student in 2013. He retired in September after full service. He said his first reaction was saving the woman's life without considering whether he would be injured. "I don't regret. It's a shame that I couldn't save her," said Feng. Endangered Leopard Mothered by Retriever, Accompanied by Lion, Tiger and Shepherd Dog

02:49
Cross-fostering is not that uncommon among animals. Yet a golden retriever mothering an Amur leopard cub is somewhat unusual, in that this species of Far-Eastern leopards is critically endangered and only 19 to 26 Amur leopards live in the wild of the Russian Far East. Zoo keepers in Vladivostok had to separate a newborn cub from her cross-tempered mom due to concerns about her own safety and put the cub into the care of the retriever named Tessa. "We decided to take the [cub] only because her mother - leopardess Alain - has eaten the previous three litters of her cubs. We can't say for sure why this happened. But we decided not to risk another baby," said Viktor Agafonov, a veterinarian at the Vladivostok Zoo. Tessa, the foster mom, already has four puppies of her own but can still accommodate one more strange-looking puppy for her care, caress and milk. Zoo keepers also pooled in their efforts onto raising up the Amur leopard cub. They give her formula milk and glucose and other necessary additional ingredients. In three weeks, the cub has doubled in weight and length and is already starting to try and feed on rabbit meat for a special treat. As the cub has soon outgrown the other retriever puppies, zoo keepers had to find her some companions to socialize and play with. The zoo readily found and locked on two other growing cubs of the Big Cat. One is a lioness and the other a tigress. Both are two and a half months old and are of similar size as the Amur leopard cub. "Although it seems these are both Big Cats, their behavior is completely different. The tigress is quieter. But the lioness (Astra), now she wants some sleep and even puts her head on me, but most of the time she keeps jogging and playing. She eats, sleeps, then repeats these actions, jogging, playing, eating again, and then sleeping," said Agafonov. For socialization, zoo keepers got the trio of cubs a junior Alabai or Central Asian shepherd dog which is strong and meek enough for the playful mini-Big Cats. "We decided that she should be kind and sociable to have a puppy friend. Well, she should also have the appropriate size and proper psyche. Here the Alabai shepherds are suitable for this. So we chose this dog, with a good pedigree, good blood," said Sergei Asnovin, the director of the Vladivostok Zoo. When moved from their closed dwelling to a spacious enclosure with a warm house, the cubs and their tutoring dog will forge a friendship which will last at least for one and a half years in that enclosure. Their cross-species friendship may last a lot longer, depending upon their socialization and play together. So here we can see and sense in the Vladivostok Zoo that cross-fostering is useful for preserving the life of rejected by parents or orphan infants, mainly for species with low reproduction rate in captivity or those threatened by extinction. http://www.cctvplus.com/news/20171104/8065313.shtml#!language=1 Subscribe us on Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/c/CCTVPlus CCTV+ official website: http://www.cctvplus.com/ LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/company/cctv-news-content Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/NewsContent.CCTVPLUS Twitter: https://twitter.com/CCTV_Plus

China's Chang'e-4 Probe Changes Orbit to Prepare for Moon Landing

02:15
China's Chang'e-4 probe entered a planned orbit Sunday morning to prepare for the first-ever soft landing on the far side of the moon, the China National Space Administration (CNSA) announced. The probe has entered an elliptical lunar orbit with the perilune at about 15 kilometers and the apolune at about 100 kilometers at 08:55, Beijing Time, said CNSA. Since the Chang'e-4 entered the lunar orbit on Dec. 12, the ground control center in Beijing has trimmed the probe's orbit twice, and tested the communication link between the probe and the relay satellite Queqiao, or Magpie Bridge, which is operating in the halo orbit around the second Lagrangian (L2) point of the earth-moon system. The space engineers also checked the imaging instruments and ranging detectors on the probe to prepare for the landing. The control center will choose a proper time to land the probe on the far side of the moon, according to CNSA. The Chang'e-4 probe, including a lander and a rover, was launched by a Long March-3B carrier rocket on Dec. 8 from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center in southwest China's Sichuan Province. http://www.cctvplus.com/news/20181230/8099366.shtml#!language=1 Welcome to subscribe us on: Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/NewsContent.CCTVPLUS Twitter: https://twitter.com/CCTV_Plus LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/company/cctv-news-content Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/cctvnewscontent/ Video on Demand: www.cctvplus.com If you are in demand of this video footage, please contact with our business development team via email: [email protected]

Unearthed 2,000-Year-Old Sword Still in Mint Condition

02:08
Archeologists in central China's Henan Province recently discovered an over 2,000-year-old sword that was still glittering in mint condition when being unearthed. The sword was found in a coffin which was excavated in mid-December 2016 from a tomb in the ancient Chengyang City Archaeological Site Park in today's Xinyang City of Henan. The tomb dates back to the Warring States Period (475 BC-221 BC). Archeologists then transferred the well-preserved coffin to a museum of the archaeological site and found the sword next to a human skeleton in the coffin. According to the preliminary judgments of the archeologists, the 47-cm-long sword was made of bronze and belonged to a senior official in the Warring States Period. The ancient city of Chengyang was built over 2,700 years ago. I Once Hoped that I Could Be Second Bruce Lee: Donnie Yen

01:54
I once hoped I could be the second Bruce Lee one day, said Donnie Yen in an interview with China Central Television (CCTV) on Sunday. Yen, a Hong Kong star, cultivated his interest in the martial arts when he was little with the help of his mother. "My mother forced me to practice Chinese martial arts in the beginning when I started to like it. She woke up at 05:00 or 06:00, dragged me out of my bed and made me practice martial arts. I went to school after practice. I gradually found myself gifted at and adept in martial arts. You know kids. When they discover they have some talent in a certain area, they would like to spend a lot of time on it. I felt I was quite good at martial arts. I worshipped Bruce Lee then and hoped I could be the second Bruce Lee one day,” said Yen. After spending two decades in the film industry, Yen had his international breakout role in Ip Man, a movie based on the master of the Wing Chun form of martial arts and one of Bruce Lee's teachers. "I became popular after more than 20 years of acting in movies. I couldn't have achieved what I have now without this time period. Without the experience, I may have not been able to play Ip Man (the grandmaster of the Chinese martial art Wing Chun) with such a flavor. So, I always tell the media that acting in movies is to reflect characters through their life experiences,” said Yen. He made his debut at CCTV's 2016 Spring Festival Gala with a martial arts performance. Yen is a Hong Kong actor, martial artist, film director and producer. China's Cliff Top Village Has Brighter Future after Installing Steel Stairs

02:38
The future of a village atop a cliff is looking brighter for its residents after local authorities installed steel ladders last year for a safer climb. In a remote part of southwest China's Sichuan Province, the village of Atuleer in Zhaojue County garnered fame after pictures surfaced showing the 800-meter ascent schoolchildren and the other villagers had to make to reach it. They had to risk their lives every day as they made the trek without any safety support. However, their lives changed last August, when the local government raised one million yuan to build a set of steel stairs into the face of the cliff, replacing the bamboo ladder. The stairs are wide enough for two people to pass at the same time. Residents seem optimistic about the improved transport infrastructure in changing their isolated and impoverished village. "Before, it was dangerous. Now we have the stairs, so we are all relieved, the old and the young. The journey is safer and we are confident in shaking off poverty," said a villager, who, along with the others, belongs to the Yi ethnic minority. The local government notes that many people are interested in the unique scenery and folk culture of the cliff-top village, and have already begun implementing measures to promote tourism. "This year, my goal is to have pigs, sheep and chickens. And I also plan to plant oval oranges. I will have 100 oval orange trees and I can sell them to tourists. I can earn at least 20,000 yuan a year. This is my goal after we have tourists," said another villager. http://www.cctvplus.com/news/20170208/8042619.shtml#!language=1 Subscribe us on Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/c/CCTVPlus CCTV+ official website: http://www.cctvplus.com/ LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/company/cctv-news-content Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/NewsContent.CCTVPLUS Twitter: https://twitter.com/CCTV_Plus

World First Autonomous Dental Implant Robot Put into Use in China

01:52
World first autonomous dental implant robot was put into use in a operation on Saturday in Xi'an City, capital of northwest China's Shaanxi Province. The robot was completely developed by China and adopted the ingenious mechanical space fusion positioning method, which can not only improve the accuracy of operation but integrate with 3D printing technology to achieve immediate repair of denture. Before operation, patient needs to take a CT (computed tomography) scan to acquire all the data of the patient's skull and jaw, and then the data are stored through a special marking system, so that the robot arm can identify the corresponding location precisely in the non-open space and finish the dental implant surgery. During the operation, the robot arm got into the patient's mouth following the pre-set motion path. After locating the exact position absent of tooth, the robot arm installed the implant into the cavity. It took the robot less than an hour to install two implants into the patient's cavities. "The operation ran very smoothly. The biggest advantage of the robot is high precision with a error of 0.2 to 0.3 millimeters, which is much more precise than manual operation," said Zhao Yimin, professor in the Fourth Military Medical University. http://www.cctvplus.com/news/20170918/8061345.shtml#!language=1 Subscribe us on Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/c/CCTVPlus CCTV+ official website: http://www.cctvplus.com/ LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/company/cctv-news-content Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/NewsContent.CCTVPLUS Twitter: https://twitter.com/CCTV_Plus

World's Largest Tidal Bore Forms in China's Qiantang River

02:06
Thousands of tourists gathered in Haining City of east China's Zhejiang Province to appreciate the world's largest tidal bore at the Qiantang River around the traditional Mid Autumn Festival holiday from Thursday to Saturday. The Qiantang River tidal bore is a world-renowned natural phenomenon known for its momentum and charm caused by the gravitational pull of the moon. The best time to view the tidal bore is between the 15th and 18th day of the eighth month on the Chinese lunar calendar, exactly the Mid-Autumn Festival. Due to the Typhoon Meranti and Malakas, the tidal bore this year is higher than those of previous years. The nine-meter-high and 650-meter-long Laoyancang Dam, 12 kilometers west of Guanxi Town, is a best site to view the majestic scene. Tide, galloping like horses, hits against the dam and retreats after rising in the air, creating one of the two eye-catching scenes of the tidal bore, namely "back-flow bore." The back-flow bore then hits the seawall with the water rising up to 15 meters high, which is another unique scene known as "soaring bore." Russia opened the doors of its airbase in western Syrian port city Latakia to China Central Television(CCTV) on Wednesday. The airbase is located at the Latakia Airport, also named as the Bassel Al-Assad International Airport. The Russian Air Force has stationed there since September 30, 2015 when the Russians started its air campaign against terrorism in Syria. There are several fighter-bomber Su-24 and attack aircraft Su-25 parked at the apron of the airbase. And, the airbase also has multipurpose fighter aircraft Su-30SM, fighter-bomber Su-34, attack helicopter Mi-24, and transport helicopter Mi-8, which are the main types of aircraft of the Russian Air Force. The frequency of aircraft takeoff from the airbase is quite high, and all planes are on standby for 24 hours a day. After completing each task, the aircraft will be revamped for its next mission. According the Russian Air Force, the Mi-24 attack helicopter is responsible for the security of the airbase, each equipped with eight heavily-armed soldiers. The soldiers lived in dormitories converted from large containers, and there is a large canteen near the living area which can serve more than 2,000 people. Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov said all the food in the airbase are transported from Russia by sea and the security in and around the airbase is quite strict and tight. "The airbase's security is very strict and reliable, which includes many aspects, such as the security surrounding the airbase, our soldiers' daily life, the safety of their daily mission, and the quality of food and water here. And, I want to stress that our activities within the airbase are totally autonomous," he said. Chinese President Xi Jinping attended a welcome ceremony held by Saudi Arabian King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud in Riyadh on Tuesday. Xi is in Riyadh for a two-day state visit to Saudi Arabia. This is the first leg of his three-nation tour of the Middle East, which will also take him to Egypt and Iran. Xi is scheduled to discuss with King Salman about lifting bilateral ties to a comprehensive strategic partnership. This is the first state visit by a Chinese head of state to Saudi Arabia in seven years. He will also meet chiefs of the Gulf Cooperation Council and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation. Saudi Arabia is China's biggest global supplier of crude oil and its biggest trading partner in West Asia and Africa. In 2013, China became the biggest trading partner of Saudi Arabia for the first time. Two-way trade reached 69.1 billion U.S. dollars in 2014, growing 230 times over that of 1990 when the two countries established diplomatic ties. Saudi Arabia is the first Arab country Xi visits as the Chinese president, and this Middle East tour comes as China and Arab countries mark 60 years in diplomatic relations in 2016. Chubby Siberian Tigers Hunt Electronic Bird of Prey

01:33
What happens when you combine ferocious Siberian tigers with modern technology? Bouncing, pouncing, and even a bit of trouncing. Video footage of a habitat for these rare felines in northeast China's Heilongjiang Province shows them meandering about until they catch sight of a reporter's drone used to film with a camera buzzing around. The chubby tigers played cat and mouse with the drone until a two or three-year-old tiger swiped at the camera, a large paw filling its screen before losing signal. The group proceeded to tear the drone apart, with one literally chewing on the gadget as if it was a bird of prey. Unlike a bird, the drone started to give off smoke, which scared off the surrounding tigers. Staff members of the park in a well-protected vehicle then went to pick up the remains of the drone. Don't worry. Although they seem overweight, Liu Dan, chief engineer with the Siberian Tiger Park, said they weigh within their normal range. The park increased the tigers' food intake to keep out the cold in winter. It won't be as necessary to feed them as much during spring as it is in winter. Experts predict that they will once again be lean in about two months. Chinese Scientists Witness Tibetan Antelopes' Life or Death Migration

02:21
Chinese scientists witnessed the life-or-death migration of Tibetan antelopes in July and August as they followed the animals for 200 kilometers in southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region. The scientists observed more than 150,000 Tibetan antelopes return to their natural habitat just weeks after they had arrived at the Sewu snow mountain in Changtang Nature Reserve on the Tibetan Plateau to give birth. The Changtang Nature Reserve with an area of 300,000 square kilometers is China's biggest habitat for antelopes and wild yaks. According to the latest figures, over 200,000 antelopes live there. The antelopes started their daily journeys shortly after 07:00, traveling 4 to 7 kilometers before stopping for the night. They walked, ate, fed calves and rested, all the while remaining vigilant for predators including bears, wolves and snow leopards. At a small river, about 20 dead calves were found by researchers from the Northwest Institute of Endangered Zoological Species (NIEZS) who participated in the scientific investigation. "On their way back, the antelopes had to wade through rivers and escape from predators so only about 30 to 40 percent of them can make it to their habitats. It's not easy. After a harsh winter, only about 30 percent of adult antelopes can survive," said Wu Xiaomin, a NIEZS researcher. After half a month, the antelopes arrived at Mayi snow mountain. Footage captured on July 29 shows about 50,000 antelopes in three herds were wading through a river up to 60 centimeters deep. "Last year, we saw about 40,000 antelopes. This year the number is definitely over 50,000," said Nu Qiong, director of the Forestry Bureau in Nyima County. Tibetan antelopes live in places with an elevation of 4,700 to 5,300 meters. They mate in the winter and give birth in the summer. 02:00
A three-year-old boy has recently been rescued from a pump well in Weifang city of east China's Shandong Province. The boy fell into a 90-meter-deep well while playing around it on March 31. Firefighters arriving on the site found it unable to rescue the boy by going down the well, as the well was about 90 meters deep, with the mouth measuring only about 30 centimeters. They then tried to inject oxygen into the well and used a life detector to pinpoint the position of the boy.It was found that the boy was stuck at a place 11.8 meters down the well. The rescuers asked the family members of the boy to comfort the boy while preparing ropes.. The rescuers then let down a rope with a loop at end. But they found it hard to lasso the boy, who was stuck with only one arm up. Rescuers told the boy to put his hand into the loop of the rope. After many attempts, they managed to tie the boy's right wrist and arm. The boy was in the end lifted up after more than two hours. He was confirmed fine after a checkup in a hospital. China's C919 Passenger Jet Successfully Completes Maiden Flight

02:12
China's C919, the country's first domestically built large passenger jet, successfully completed its maiden flight on Friday afternoon. The twin-engine plane departed from Shanghai Pudong International Airport with five crew members on board but no passengers at around 14:00. After half an hour, it landed at the same airport, with media waiting and spectators applauding. Cai Jun, captain of the C919 maiden flight, was the first to disembark from the aircraft and waved to onlookers at the flight ceremony. He was then greeted by Wu Guanghui, chief designer of the C919 project before the rest of the flight crew exited the plane. The flight makes China the fourth jumbo jet producer after the United States, Europe and Russia. It also marks a milestone for the Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China (COMAC), the Shanghai-based manufacturer of the C919. The "C" in the aircraft's name stands for both China and COMAC, while 9 symbolizes "forever" in Chinese culture, and 19 represents the 190 seats at maximum capacity. With a standard range of 4,075 kilometers, the narrow-body jet is comparable with updated Airbus 320 and Boeing's new generation 737, signaling the country's entry into the global aviation market. World's Largest Ship Elevator Opens at Three Gorges Dam in Central China

01:26
The world's largest ship elevator at the Three Gorges Dam opened in Yichang City, central China's Hubei Province, on Sunday, with a prospect to increase the shipping capacity past the dam by six million tons a year. The elevator, the existing largest lifting structure on a navigation route with the highest technical difficulty of the world, features large engineering scope, high lifting height and large weight lifting operation. The largest weight to be handled by the elevator is freighter of 3,000 DWT(deadweight ton) and the maximum vertical lifting height is 113 meters. The main components of the structure are four 169-meter high reinforced concrete towers. The chamber, a self-support orthotropic plate structure that is 120 meters long and 18 meters wide, works as a gigantic basin. Weighting around 15,500 tons, the elevator carries the ships upwards or downwards to pass the dam. A special safety mechanism, or a brake pad, is fixed. Four short screw sections connected to the ship chamber work as rotary locking rods. They rotary locking rods work continuously in an internal thread, or a nut post, that is fixed to the towers. If an accident occurs, this rotation is blocked and traction is achieved that supports the ship chamber independently. The elevator will cut journey times for passenger, cruise and small cargo ships passing through the dam from over three hours to about 40 minutes. Larger vessels still have to pass the dam by means of a two-lane, five-chamber lock chain like climbing stairs. "Large vessels walk the stairs, small ones take the elevator" to pass the Three Gorges Dam for some time to come. The elevator marks the completion of the Three Gorges Dam project on the Yangtze River, which aims at producing electricity, increasing the Yangtze River's shipping capacity and reducing the potential for floods downstream by providing flood storage space. Refugees Continue Flocking to Greek Island amid General Election

02:28
Boats carrying refugees, mostly Syrians, continued flocking to Greece's Lesbos Island on Sunday while Greek citizens cast their ballots in the nation's general election. Various types of boat, including rubber dinghies, carried refugees to several beaches on the island, which is four kilometers from the Turkish coast. Refugees said it didn't matter where in Europe they ended up, they just wanted to find a safe place to stay. "Any country in Europe, 'cause we want the safe, only safe," said a Syrian refugee. According to estimates, around 6,000 refugees were likely to reach Lesbos Island over the weekend. But, another tragedy in nearby waters, the sinking of a vessel carrying dozens of refugees, was reported on Sunday. "The location is about three kilometers south of Mytilene City, 22 survived, 26 are missing," said Christiana Kalogirou, North Aegean Region governor. And, at least 13 undocumented refugees and migrants are still missing after a boat capsized amid strong winds off the island on Saturday. So far this year, hundreds of thousands of refugees, mostly Syrians and Afghans fleeing conflict, have crossed by sea from Turkey to Greece. An overwhelming majority continued onwards to more prosperous central and northern European countries. But, after the introduction of tighter border controls by several states lately, Greeks fear that such refugees and migrants will stay in a country that lacks the means to help them. Chinese Navy Carrier-Borne Fighter Jets Complete Nighttime Take off, Landing

01:55
The Chinese navy aircraft carrier force has completed the training of nighttime takeoff and landing of carrier-borne fighter jets, making China one of the few countries that are capable of carrying out the mission. Before the training began, a rescue helicopter took off from the flight deck of Liaoning, China's first aircraft carrier, to provide necessary assistance to the jets. Several J-15 fighter jets successfully took off from the flight deck and landed precisely. As the carrier is in movement, nighttime takeoff and landing of the carrier-borne aircraft is difficult given the low visibility and the limited space on the flight deck. http://www.cctvplus.com/news/20180913/8090520.shtml#!language=1 Welcome to subscribe us on: Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/NewsContent.CCTVPLUS Twitter: https://twitter.com/CCTV_Plus LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/company/cctv-news-content Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/cctvnewscontent/ Video on Demand: www.cctvplus.com If you are in demand of this video footage, please contact with our business development team via email: [email protected]

23 Baby Pandas Make Debut at southwest China Breeding Base

01:34
Twenty-three giant panda cubs made their public debut at a panda base in southwest China's Chengdu City on Thursday, offering the cutest scene one can imagine. The baby pandas, aged one to four months, were all born at the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding this year. "I think this is just about the cutest thing in the entire world. I never imagine there will be so many baby pandas in one place," said a U.S. tourist named Aaron. "I thought they were toys because they were lying there motionless. Then I realized they were cute baby pandas," said Zheng Shuo, a tourist from central China's Hunan Province. This year, experts from the base also witnessed the birth of another four pandas overseas, raising the total number of base's newborn pandas to 27, a rare record since the establishment of the base. The number of this year's newborn pandas at the base has almost doubled that last year. Experts attribute this to the improvement in breeding technology. "We used to mate the pandas by observing their behaviors to decide the timing for mating. But now we combine behavior observation with endocrine analysis to get more accurate timing, thus ensuring a fairly high breeding rate," said Wu Kongju, animal management director at the base. What's more, among the 27 newborn pandas there are 10 pairs of twins, accounting for 74 percent of the total. Since its establishment nearly 30 years ago, the base has bred 176 giant pandas, the world's largest artificially-bred giant panda population.
