Patience Osarogiuwa reports that the seventy-eight returnees are part of the one hundred and twenty-eight Libya returnees earlier scheduled for the monthly stipends. Presenting the monthly allowance of twenty thousand naira each to seventy-eight Libya returnees through the Oba Ewuare the second foundation, the private secretary to the Oba and secretary of board of trustees Oba Ewuare the second foundation, barrister Esosa Eremwanarue said the gesture was to give succor to the down trodden in the society which is part of the pet project of the Benin monarch. Barrister Eremwanarue intimated journalists that the foundation which was established during the first year coronation anniversary of the Oba is to alleviate poverty in the land and empower citizens. He noted that the monthly stipends which will last for the next three months after which the returnees would be engaged in various skill acquisition programs to better their lots and will take care of their immediate needs. He also informed journalists that the palace is working on modalities to incorporate other returnees who were also at the palace on a courtesy visit.
