Define Segment, Extent, Block (Hindi)

06:20
Solution to the question submitted by students. Define Segment, Extent and Block? (RGPV Dec 2014,Dec 2010, Dec 2009) Sol. Block: A database block is the smallest unit of storage in Oracle. Oracle manages the storage space in the datafiles of its database in these units. The size of block is a specific number of bytes of storage within a given tablespace. The default block size is specified by the Oracle initialization parameter that is DB_BLOCK_SIZE. Extent: An extent is the next level of logical grouping in the database. An extent consist of one or more database blocks. When we enlarge a database object, the spece added to the object is allocated as an extent. Segment: Segment is a group of extents that form a database object that oracle treats as a unit, such as table. There are four types of segments- Data segment – It is a storage part. Index segment – Its hold all of its data. Temporary segment – It’s a temporary work space. Undo segment – to do transaction undo

ChainLink | Coin Review | Decentralized Oracle Network |

17:29
What is chainlink and how it plans on using existing data as middle ware! As developers begin to implement their chosen smart contract, they encounter the connectivity problem; their smart contract is unable to connect with key external resources like off-chain data and APIs. This lack of external connectivity is due to the method by which consensus is reached around a blockchain's transaction data, and will therefore be a problem for every smart contract network. ChainLink is secure blockchain middleware that allows smart contracts on various networks to connect with the critical resources they need to become useful for 90% of use cases. We've been creating secure oracles for Bitcoin and Ethereum for over 3 years, connecting smart contracts on various networks to critical external data feeds as triggers, and the many off-chain systems needed to become operational. Our team is excited about making a world where smart contracts are securely connected to the off-chain data, APIs and widely accepted payments they need to work for 90% of real use cases. The Collaborative Cloud: Design Innovations to Foster Enterprise Collaboration Topic: EPM Business Content - Subtopic: Other EPM Business Content Today, users expect their experiences with enterprise solutions to be as intuitive, beautiful, and efficient as their experiences in non-enterprise contexts: smartphones, gaming consoles, personal productivity. Cloud-based software, both business and personal, has reinforced the need for exceptional product design to be a crucial aspect of the product lifecycle. As we reboot our solution portfolio for the cloud, the BI/EPM Product Design team has similarly rebooted its approach to providing users functional but elegant solutions by re-examining the relationship users have not just with our tools and data but with information in a broader context. One of the ways in which next-generation solutions differentiate themselves from traditional software is the extent to which they socialize business tasks through collaboration and group communication. In this interactive session, you’ll learn about design innovations we’ve made across our BI and EPM portfolios that exemplify the points above and inspire more immediate and effective collaboration. We’ll reveal some of the ways we go about designing for the cloud, including research methods, findings, and how you can engage with designs personally to help drive our research forward. You will also have a unique opportunity on-site to share with Oracle designers specifics for how more collaborative experiences in our applications would drive better experiences at your company.

Difference Between Delete and Truncate

03:41
Below is link for Useful Pl/SQL Books http://goo.gl/XMy0tt ---------------------------------------------------------- Difference Between Delete and Truncate in Detail On bigger picture they serve the same purpose but there are many Differences listed with examples Point Delete Truncate 1. Data Recovery Delete: Come under the DML Category, we need to commit or Rollback explicitly to make the changes permanent, so we can recover the data by Rollback command fully with in a session or up to a point if Save Points are used Fall In DDL Category (DDL Command issue the Auto commit implicitly) so no chances of Recovery even not using the Flashback table method. But Truncate operations are also logged , they didn’t generate redo SQL but they are logged , view for truncated data info V$LOGMNR_CONTENTS 2. Data Removal Delete Can remove all or selected data using the Where Clause predicates. Or we can say delete any subset of rows We can Truncate complete table or a partition or sub partition of a table. 3. Speed Delete is Slower because oracle maintain the redo logs for Read Consistency (so that every session connected can see a consistent data at a given point of time ) Delete is very time consuming activity especially when table have numerous indexes and Triggers associated with table Faster as no data logs are maintained no associated trigger firing. 4. DML Triggers Firing DML (Delete) triggers associated with table will fire. DML Trigger will not fire in case of truncate method. 5. Flashback Technology Data can be recovered even after commit operation using Flashback Table options Flashback_transaction_query table will give what to recover and up to which point. Data cannot be recovered in truncate method by Flashback table option. 6. Referential Integrity Constraint Behavior if we don’t have related data in child table then we can delete the data from the parent table or we have variants like On Delete Cascade & on Delete set Null. We can’t truncate a table with enable Referential Integrity Constraint, even there is no data in the child table, we have to disable or drop the constraint if we want to truncate the table. Exception: Truncate is possible if the FK is self-referential means primary key and foreign key are on the same table. 7. Space De allocation or Space Utilization No extent reset with delete when deleting rows from a table, extents are not de allocated, So if there were 50 extents in the table before the deletion, there will still be 50 after the deletion. Truncate: When a table is truncated it will free the space allocated except in case of reuse storage clause. This space can subsequently be used only by new data in the table or cluster resulting from insert or update operations .All extents are de allocated leaving only the extents specified when the table was originally created .Example So if the table was originally created with min extents 3, there will be 3 extents remaining when the tables is truncated. When you truncate a table, NEXT is automatically reset to the last extent deleted. 8. High Water Mark Delete will not reset the high water mark Truncate will reset the High Water mark which is very important for performance point of view as in case of full table scan and full index scan oracle will read all the block under high water mark this makes a lot of difference in terms of performance. 9. Cluster No as such restriction with delete. You cannot individually truncate a table that is part of a cluster. You must truncate the cluster, Delete all rows from the table, or drop and re-create the table. 10. Information Capturing Delete : we can capture the row information what we have deleted using Delete Method, f you are deleting multiple records then use composite data types (collections & records) Truncate Don’t have this feature of capturing the deleted records. 11. Function Based Index Impact DELETE You cannot delete rows from a table if a function-based index on the table has become invalid. You must first validate the function-based index. Truncate: No as such restriction 12. UNUSABLE Indexes Delete no as such feature. Truncate if table is not empty then truncate make all unusable indexes to useable. 13. Complex views You cannot delete data from a Complex view except through INSTEAD OF triggers. But we can delete data from simple Views and MV. We cannot truncate a view simple or complex but you can truncate MV with special Features like Preserve MV Logs and Purge MV Logs. 14. Privileges Delete You need to provide delete table privilege on object. Truncate you must have drop table privilege there is no truncate table privilege exists. 15. Domain Index No as such restriction You cannot truncate the object having domain index in invalid or In progress state

AGS Server Studio: 06 Table Reorganization

07:56
If a table has an excessive number of extents, right click on it and choose Reorganize. After choosing a better next extent size, you can choose to recreate the table in-place using “alter index to cluster” or by exporting the data to a file, optionally using the Informix High Performance Loader (HPL). In all cases, everything is done for you, and all dependent objects such as views are faithfully recreated afterwards. The biggest time saving is if you choose HPL, which is extremely quick and avoids long transaction errors for large tables: HPL normally has a steep learning curve, and its complexity is hidden by AGS.

SQL: LEAD Function

06:30
In this tutorial, you'll learn how to make use of lead function in oracle sql PL/SQL (Procedural Language/Structured Query Language) is Oracle Corporation's procedural extension for SQL and the Oracle relational database. PL/SQL is available in Oracle Database (since version 7), TimesTen in-memory database (since version 11.2.1), and IBM DB2 (since version 9.7).[1] Oracle Corporation usually extends PL/SQL functionality with each successive release of the Oracle Database. PL/SQL includes procedural language elements such as conditions and loops. It allows declaration of constants and variables, procedures and functions, types and variables of those types, and triggers. It can handle exceptions (runtime errors). Arrays are supported involving the use of PL/SQL collections. Implementations from version 8 of Oracle Database onwards have included features associated with object-orientation. One can create PL/SQL units such as procedures, functions, packages, types, and triggers, which are stored in the database for reuse by applications that use any of the Oracle Database programmatic interfaces. PL/SQL works analogously to the embedded procedural languages associated with other relational databases. For example, Sybase ASE and Microsoft SQL Server have Transact-SQL, PostgreSQL has PL/pgSQL (which emulates PL/SQL to an extent), and IBM DB2 includes SQL Procedural Language,[2] which conforms to the ISO SQL’s SQL/PSM standard. The designers of PL/SQL modeled its syntax on that of Ada. Both Ada and PL/SQL have Pascal as a common ancestor, and so PL/SQL also resembles Pascal in several aspects. However, the structure of a PL/SQL package does not resemble the basic Object Pascal program structure as implemented by a Borland Delphi or Free Pascal unit. Programmers can define public and private global data-types, constants and static variables in a PL/SQL package.[3] PL/SQL also allows for the definition of classes and instantiating these as objects in PL/SQL code. This resembles usage in object-oriented programming languages like Object Pascal, C++ and Java. PL/SQL refers to a class as an "Abstract Data Type" (ADT) or "User Defined Type" (UDT), and defines it as an Oracle SQL data-type as opposed to a PL/SQL user-defined type, allowing its use in both the Oracle SQL Engine and the Oracle PL/SQL engine. The constructor and methods of an Abstract Data Type are written in PL/SQL. The resulting Abstract Data Type can operate as an object class in PL/SQL. Such objects can also persist as column values in Oracle database tables. PL/SQL is fundamentally distinct from Transact-SQL, despite superficial similarities. Porting code from one to the other usually involves non-trivial work, not only due to the differences in the feature sets of the two languages,[4] but also due to the very significant differences in the way Oracle and SQL Server deal with concurrency and locking. There are software tools available that claim to facilitate porting including Oracle Translation Scratch Editor,[5] CEITON MSSQL/Oracle Compiler [6] and SwisSQL.[7] The StepSqlite product is a PL/SQL compiler for the popular small database SQLite. PL/SQL Program Unit A PL/SQL program unit is one of the following: PL/SQL anonymous block, procedure, function, package specification, package body, trigger, type specification, type body, library. Program units are the PL/SQL source code that is compiled, developed and ultimately executed on the database. The basic unit of a PL/SQL source program is the block, which groups together related declarations and statements. A PL/SQL block is defined by the keywords DECLARE, BEGIN, EXCEPTION, and END. These keywords divide the block into a declarative part, an executable part, and an exception-handling part. The declaration section is optional and may be used to define and initialize constants and variables. If a variable is not initialized then it defaults to NULL value. The optional exception-handling part is used to handle run time errors. Only the executable part is required. A block can have a label. Package Packages are groups of conceptually linked functions, procedures, variables, PL/SQL table and record TYPE statements, constants, cursors etc. The use of packages promotes re-use of code. Packages are composed of the package specification and an optional package body. The specification is the interface to the application; it declares the types, variables, constants, exceptions, cursors, and subprograms available. The body fully defines cursors and subprograms, and so implements the specification. Two advantages of packages are: Modular approach, encapsulation/hiding of business logic, security, performance improvement, re-usability. They support object-oriented programming features like function overloading and encapsulation. Using package variables one can declare session level (scoped) variables, since variables declared in the package specification have a session scope.

Why GRAYSON ALLEN Is The PERFECT Golden State WARRIOR | What’s Next After Duke & College Basketball?

05:46
Get your SportzCases here! - http://sportzcases.com?aff=101 Promo code for 10% off DKM Before everything Allen won a state championship in high school and also won the McDonalds all American slam dunk contest, where he jumped over future teammate Jahlil Okafor. Establishing a winning mentality at a young age, he carried that mentality to the next level, as a freshman he single-handedly dragged duke back into the NCAA championship game, scoring 8 straight bringing his team back from a late 9 point deficit. He finished the game with 16 points and a national championship victory. His sophomore year was his best individually, he averaged 22 a night shooting 46% from the field and 41% from three. He really should've been done with college his second year, but his performances on the season were ultimately overshadowed by not one but 2 tripping incidents within a month. He came back for his junior season, returning as one of the top players in college basketball. Allen stated publically he was ready to put the tripping incidents behind him, if he wasn’t already, he for sure established himself as public enemy number one when just over a month into the season he was suspended indefinitely for his third tripping incident, which he was stripped of team captaincy for. Going into his senior year, Grayson knew it was gonna be the make or break season, and his last chance to make it to the NBA. For the most part, he’d looked to have matured a lot, only time cooking up controversy was for a flagrant foul, which became known as the hip check. Allen hoped to close out his Duke career with his second NCAA championship, Unlike Laettner, he didn’t hit the big shot. Watching his effort roll around twice before rimming out. Resulting in an overtime loss to Kansas in the elite 8. Like Laettner and JJ before him, Grayson Allen’s career is one worthy of jersey retirement. He sits 12th all-time in scoring and 5 all-time in 3 point field goals made. On top of all that look at the adversity he faces, not many people could go through the humiliation he inflicted on himself, become a nationwide lightning rod, then rise above it all and leave as a full and vastly better man. Another title would have been great but Allen’s victory is a good bit more subtle than that. His victory is not over another team but over his toughest opponent - himself. Grayson Allen’s Duke career is what it is, but with him graduating and unable to return next season, the question is what’s next for him. Well the NBA Dream looks to be back on the cards, after his redemptive final season. With all the pros and cons considered he’s expected to be selected late first round, early second. Whatever you make of Grayson Allen, at the end of the day, he can play. NBA coaches will fall in love with his competitiveness, effort, and intensity. Every NBA coach will tell you that he'll take a player that cares too much and makes mistakes, rather than one that is too cool for school.Allen could be that microwave bench scorer that so many teams need. He could be the guy that scores 20 points off the bench leading to a playoff win. With Duke's awesome starting lineup that includes five potential first round picks, Allen's offensive role has been reduced this season. His role this year is most likely what his NBA role will be; as a floor-spacer who adds secondary ball-handling and play-making. In that role, Allen has excelled this year. But where I think Grayson’s would be best utilized is playing for the defending champs at Oracle Arena. The past few seasons the Warriors have picked up talented assets through the draft, developing Paddy McCaw and Jordan Bell into key second unit contributors. Former D-League MVP Quinn Cook who played alongside Grayson at Duke is also turning out to be a great addition to the Warriors. Who is clearly using the draft to reform the future of their bench as the likes of Shaun Livingston, Iguodala, and others get up there in age? Grayson Allen would bring slot right into a locker room filled with winning mentalities, and for a team who’ve been accused of suffering from winning fatigue. A guy like Grayson’s energy is something that would rub off on the rest of the guys and keep them motivated. Two of the biggest villains for dirty play in the league right now is Zaza Pachulia and Draymond Green. Both of those guys and also Durant to some extent can mentor Grayson in a way to thrive on the hate that inevitably follows him throughout his NBA journey. Considering the Warriors are first and foremost a finesse team when push comes to shove in the playoffs. They’ll be able to withstand the physicality of the postseason even more so. Zaza’s gonna Zaza’ intentionally injuring the opposing teams best player, Grayson’s tripping and Draymond kicking people in the nuts. It’s the perfect situation for a gritty player, who might as well make the most of his cheap shot reputation,. Gullible

Mike Workman - Oracle OpenWorld 2014 - theCUBE Studio QLogic

22:19
Mike Workman, Oracle Storage, at Oracle OpenWorld 2014 with Dave Vellante and Stu Miniman @theCUBE #*OOW14* Days after Oracle released a statement saying that the company will not be making any acquisitions anytime soon due to the fact that Oracle is focusing more on internal growth rather than acquisitions, they purchased Pillar Data Systems – a private technology storage company majorly owned by Oracle CEO Larry Ellison. Much like with their competitors, the acquisition was made to be able to give their clients full service in the cloud, though the deal was, to some extent, an internal affair. “Are we serious about storage? I hope that the feeling is yes,” said Mark Hurd, Oracle’s President, during a storage event at the company’s headquarters on Thursday afternoon. “We have got a full family of capabilities now.” Though other competitors like Dell, which acquired Compellent, and HP, which acquired 3PAR last year, have been making big plans for their recent buys, it is not the same case with Oracle. When Dell and HP acquired their own storage companies, the Company CEOs still remained as the crucial member of the team. But Oracle did not do the same. Pillar CEO Mike Workman won’t get star treatment, and the reason for this could be that Pillar wasn’t able to deliver what was expected from them. “The timing was good for Pillar’s creation 10 years ago. There were other storage startups adding their own secret sauce, both software and hardware, to make disk arrays do more yet cost less and be easier to manage. Workman’s bad luck was to end up competing with two companies that did it better in their markets. Both were run by experienced guys too and had, it has been suggested, better all-round executive teams than Pillar… There was no effective way Pillar’s Axiom could match 3PAR’s high-end box. Nor could it match the box produced by Phil Soran, Larry Aszmann and the other members of the founding team that built Compellent’s Storage Center into a devastatingly effective array for the mid-range. Compellent competed with CLARiiON and 3PAR with the DMX and both became the leading SAN competitors to EMC in these areas, leaving Pillar to pick up crumbs in the sparsely-populated ground between these two great companies. As consumers, when we purchase something but are not satisfied with it, we can either swap it with something else we think we like much better, or return it to get our money back. But with acquisitions such as this, there are no take-backs. You either live with the consequences of not gaining anything from it, or put it on the far-end of the table and hope that the right moment comes and you can finally benefit from it.

Bought By Oracle, Goodhart's Moat Takes Ad-Tech To TV Upfronts

09:39
When people think of advertising analytics vendors that offer an insight in to the viewability of ad inventory, Moat is often top of most minds. Now it is also part of one of the biggest IT companies on the planet. New York-based Moat, founded seven years ago, has signed an agreement to be acquired by Oracle in what will be one of the biggest examples yet of marketing technology companies acquiring in to ad-tech. And now Moat is taking its viewability technology in to the upfronts, the season in which US TV networks tout their upcoming content in order to sell to advertisers. Speaking in this video interview with Beet.TV, Moat CEO Jonah Goodhart revealed Fox, through its true[X] ad engagement subsidiary, will be trying to sell advertisers based on "attention" as measured through a Moat partnership. "We’re specifically doing something with Fox, coming up for this year’s upfronts, where they are really focused on attention, on how to understand … attention in television, connected TV, other types of environments," he said. "We are Fox’s partner where we start with measuring viewability, moving on to time and ultimately asking questions like, ‘How long was somebody there? What did they do?’, ‘Did they interact with the ad?’ [and] ’Did they choose do be there?… ' "With Fox, we’re applying [our] technology to understand attention in the environments they create." Fox's upfront presentation takes place on May 15. It comes as Moat's acquisition by Oracle serves as another indicator of ad-tech consolidation, after TubeMogul was acquired by Adobe late in 2016. Moat's product suite includes online analytics for advertising, including insight in to the visibility of video advertising. Oracle plans to integrate the company in to its existing Oracle Data Cloud - a suite for targeting, delivering and measuring online advertising which claims to have over five billion unique consumer profiles. Oracle has bought in to ad-tech in recent years through Bluekai and Vitrue. It says Moat "will remain an independent platform within" its own offering. Moat's star has risen as concern has grown over the extent of fraudulent ad impressions and inventory that is not even viewable by human users, and especially since the Media Ratings Council (MRC) codified guidelines for viewable ad impressions as a consequence in 2014. Now the company claims over 600 clients. In a letter to its customers, Oracle says: "Oracle plans to continue investing in Moat. We expect this will include more functionality and capabilities at a quicker pace. In addition, Moat customers will benefit from better integration and alignment with Oracle’s other product offerings. "Oracle and Moat are committed to keeping Moat an open measurement and analytics platform, with deep integrations and partnerships across the entire digital publisher and adtech landscape." Oracle claims media spending worth more than $4bn was enhanced by capabilities of its Data Cloud last year.

Oracle in Focus: Cloud, Infrastructure, Database and Platform (CXOTalk #261)

What is Oracle and where do its software, database, and cloud products stand today in relation to cloud technology and big data? Three prominent analysts – Mike Fauscette, chief research officer at G2 Crowd; Liz Forrester, vice president and primary analyst at Forrester; and Neil Ward-Dutton, co-founder and research director at MDW Advisors – talk with CXOTalk to place Oracle in focus. For more information see, https://www.cxotalk.com/episode/oracle-focus-industry-analysts-view Fauscette is the chief research officer at G2 Crowd, a platform and community where people can connect and share experiences about business software. He is also a published author, blogger, photographer and accomplished public speaker on emerging trends in business software, business modernization and customer experience strategies. Herbert focuses on the technology services industry, helping clients navigate this fast-changing market and maximize the business value of their technology investments. As a principal analyst, she helps clients understand the key dynamics in the enterprise application services market and make smart technology sourcing decisions. Specific topics of focus include SaaS, SAP and Oracle Services, and services for cloud and mobile. She also advises technology and technology services vendors on market dynamics, buyer demands, competitive landscape, and go-to-market. Ward-Dutton is MWD Advisors' co-founder and Research Director, and is one of Europe’s most experienced and high-profile IT industry analysts. His areas of expertise include business process management (BPM), enterprise architecture (EA), Cloud computing and digital strategy. He also acts as an advisor to large organizations across a range of sectors and industries, including leading technology vendors. From the transcript: What are you seeing in the market with respect to Oracle today? Liz Herbert: (00:05:52) Sure. One of the things we've seen is that, like you said, they're one of the largest technology suppliers out there, and sometimes that means they're not the fastest. They don't necessarily take risks the way that some smaller and more startup-type companies do. For example, it's well known that Oracle was a bit late to the overall cloud competition that we see looming large in today's applications market, as well as platforms and infrastructure. (00:06:17) That said, when they invest, they go big. One of the things that's been notable about Oracle is that, where they're jumping into a new area of customer demand, they're able to put a significant amount of investment behind it. In fact, there's something very unique about the company, which we haven't really talked much about yet, but because Larry Ellison owns such a substantial part of the overall company, they're able to take decisions in a way that many other public companies of their size would not be able to. Neil Ward-Dutton: (00:08:45) Now on the platform side of things, fundamentally, my view is that Oracle's strategy is kind of defensive, but that's not necessarily a bad thing, nor is it surprising. Its position and its strategy is fundamentally about realizing that the center of gravity for the foreseeable future for new investments is going to be cloud. It's all about being there when customers want them to be there, to kind of minimize opportunities for customers to go anywhere else, to make sure that they always have something that they can offer customers when customers go to town and want to do things. Mike Fauscette: (00:21:48) I think it's an interesting point to say that customers and business, in general, change. We know, and you hear people talk about digital transformation. We think about platforms, and we think about this new way technology plays in business. It's much more into a competitive differentiator, a competitive advantage. It's something that companies that jump ahead can really leapfrog competition by using technology and people in the right sort of combinations. (00:22:22) Fundamentally, the way that companies think of what they want from the technology has started to shift. Now there's the conservative middle that'll follow that isn't out on the edge yet. You think about companies like Oracle, Salesforce, and others that have to be able to work in that environment. They have a business they have to maintain and, at the same time, they want to start to help those customers shift, move in the directions, and have the things available that can help them do that.

LoliRock - Step Right Up! | Series 1, Episode 11 | FULL EPISODE | LoliRock

22:11
The Princesses put on a glittery performance at a charity concert benefitting children from a local orphanage. The kids are delighted by the glitz and glamour of the show, and in awe at the opportunity to hang out with local “celebrities”. As part of the event, carnival games have been set up in the lobby outside the concert hall, and the princesses are enticed to play along with three little girls, whose personalities are similar to each of the three princesses… except they don’t get along with each other at all. The princesses win stuffed animal after stuffed animal, and have to divvy up the load of toys amongst the three girls. Only after the gang leaves with armloads of adorable stuffies do the game barkers take off their disguises: it’s Praxina and Mephisto, and the Princesses have fallen into their trap. The princesses, who are spending the night with the kids in the orphanage, are concerned to see the extent of the three little girls’ disdain for each other… they’ve even divided up their shared bedroom into individual spaces. That night, the adorable stuffed animals attack! They were actually enchanted by Praxina and Mephisto. After casting a spell to put the kids to sleep, the princesses battle away the vicious stuffed animals AND the twins. In the end, the three little girls wake up and get along with each other, inspired by the example of the princesses. And the girls present Iris with a thank you gift they kept as a “star” in their shared room… which magically gifts them with an oracle gem!
