"A Saucerful of Secrets" was titled "The Massed Gadgets of Hercules" in its earliest performance and became a Pink Floyd live staple from 1968--72. A live version of the track is available on their 1969 double album Ummagumma, and an alternative version is seen and heard in the film Pink Floyd: Live at Pompeii,

EDIT 5/4/18: Thank you all so much for 183+ views. It really means a lot and I never would hbve thought this would get passed 100. A few things I wanna clear up: The 'Women responding to the film' segment is kind of a stretch. Looking back on it, I should've removed this part. Also, the backwards message segment was cut slightly for brevity, and I didn't include "Care of the funny farm." in the subtitles because I didn't understand what he was saying. This video was also admittedly a bit rushed, so I apologize for the REALLY bad spelling errors. On top of this, I missed two hidden messages according to the comments. So yeah, this is one of my weakest videos compared to my others and doesn't not represent the quality of my other videos well at all. With that said please don't take this video too seriously, it was just meant to be fun little easter eggs video. This is the title track of Pink Floyd's second LP, A Saucerful Of Secrets. It was one of four tracks that did not include Syd Barrett in the recording or in the songwriting. It WAS the first instance of David Gilmour recording with the band and contributing to the songwriting. It is broken up into four distinct sections: 1) "Something Else" 2."Syncopated Pandemonium" 3."Storm Signal" and 4."Celestial Voices." "Celestial Voices," on close inspection, actually plays out in two stages: the instrumental theme and the choral version of the theme which also concludes the work. Despite the title suggesting some sort of outer space theme, according to Roger Waters it actually concerns a battle about to be engaged and the battle itself. The resolution involves the view of the dead lying on the battlefield and the mourning of the dead. I have chosen to follow Waters' vision of the first two sections. However, I shift from the battlefield on earth to the cosmos in "Storm Signal" ... indicating that a war conducted on our planet may also involve the heavens, as is also suggested by "Celestial Voices." My interpretation of "Celestial Voices" deals with the spiritual realm as well as the cosmic. I hope you will find my video an interesting treatment of this classic early Pink Floyd song.

The limited-edition Record Store Day release is delivered on premium 12” 180-gram black vinyl, with a black poly-lined inner sleeve, and a faithful reproduction of the original sleeve, including the ‘Columbia’ logo, under which imprint (via EMI) the early Pink Floyd released in the UK. Originally released in June 1968, A Saucerful Of Secrets represents a change in line-up and direction. Co-founder and original songwriter Syd Barrett contributed only one song to the album and his live appearances became more erratic. So unreliable were Syd Barrett’s live appearances that fellow founder members, Roger Waters, Rick Wright and Nick Mason decided to draft in David Gilmour, a friend of Syd’s, also from Cambridge. Roger Waters and Richard Wright contributed for this album four and three songs respectively. The album reflects this transition, containing a mixture of material, from the almost ‘music hall’ Corporal Clegg through Richard Wright’s dreamlike and melodic See-Saw and Remember A Day to the title track – an 11-minute, four part instrumental excursion that both harked back to their UFO freakouts and looked forward to the longer, more anthemic instrumental sequences that were to become one of their signature elements. In spite of the band having to wait a further 11 years for a UK hit single, the album reflected Pink Floyd’s popularity by charting at No. 9 in the UK. Produced by Norman Smith at London’s Abbey Road Studios, it features songs that remained on the band’s live setlist for many years, such as Set The Controls For The Heart Of The Sun by Roger Waters and the title track, composed by Roger Waters, Richard Wright, Nick Mason and David Gilmour. Corporal Clegg features a rare lead vocal on a studio album by Nick Mason, who otherwise appears with spoken word contributions to One Of These Days on Meddle, and two tracks on A Momentary Lapse of Reason. The album’s cover artwork was the first ever sleeve design for creators Aubrey Powell and Storm Thorgerson of the Hipgnosis design team, and was to lead to a ground-breaking career for them in the visual arts, including of course many more iconic Pink Floyd album sleeves, amongst them The Dark Side of the Moon and Wish You Were Here. A Saucerful of Secrets in Mono follows the successful release of Pink Floyd’s debut album The Piper At The Gates of Dawn in Mono in 2018. SIDE A: 1. Let There Be More Light 2. Remember A Day 3. Set The Controls For The Heart Of The Sun 4. Corporal Clegg SIDE B: 1 A Saucerful of Secrets 2. See-Saw 3. Jugband Blues
