Basic tech skills for a Product Manager

01:16:14
We see lots of entrepreneurs struggling to explain their product in a clear and concise way. As a direct consequence, they often don't know how to work with designers and developers because they don't speak their language. The role of a good entrepreneur is to break those barriers when it comes to his product. Otherwise, he won't be able to work correctly with the rest of his team. In this workshop, we will cover all the important steps in the conception of a technical product: • Product pitch: precisely define your value proposition (we'll give lots of examples) • Mockup: make a basic mockup of your app using Sketch • Database: what's the core database scheme of your product • User stories: write and organise your user stories on Trello. As an entrepreneur, this workshop will give you a simple methodology to precisely define the product you want to build and work efficiently with developers and designers without unnecessary processes or misunderstandings. We will take lots of real-life example (Product Hunt, Airbnb, etc..) to illustrate this workshop. --- Go further with Le Wagon and learn HTML, CSS, ruby, Rails, Javascript, Github, APIs and much more 🚀 during our 2 month full-time immersive bootcamp 👉 https://www.lewagon.com/program Le Wagon is the first bootcamp bringing technical skills to creative entrepreneurs in London. Who is a Product Manager and What do they do? [Career Insights]

07:54
The role of a product manager is crucial but also one of the least understood ones. What does a product manager really do? Is he more of a data analyst? Or someone who deals with the tech aspects of product, leading the team of engineers? Or does the product manager largely concern himself/herself with user experience, design or the overall business strategy? Mind-boggling isn't it? No wonder the role is difficult to understand for most. In this video, Ravijot Chugh, Co-Founder and Product Head at UpGrad, explains in detail the various responsibilities a Product Manager has, and that you need to execute to the best of your ability to be a good PM. If you want to bag one among the thousands of highly coveted openings for Product Managers between now and 2020 (only to grow exponentially even after), you need to start upgrading your existing skills and mastering these key skills. Product Managers are often referred to as mini-CEOs of the product. This is why, at tech companies, startups and large MNCs that are now diversifying, alike, the role of Product Managers is lucrative and one of the most important in the organization.
