A list comprehension is a way to construct a list in Python using a single line of code. The pattern of creating an empty list, setting up a for loop, and then using several if-then clauses to determine which data should appear in the list can all be done in a single line in Python. ➢➢➢➢➢➢➢➢➢➢ To learn Python, you can watch our playlist from the beginning: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bY6m6_IIN94&list=PLi01XoE8jYohWFPpC17Z-wWhPOSuh8Er- ➢➢➢➢➢➢➢➢➢➢ We recommend: Python Cookbook, Third edition from O’Reilly http://amzn.to/2sCNYlZ The Mythical Man Month - Essays on Software Engineering & Project Management http://amzn.to/2tYdNeP Shop Amazon Used Textbooks - Save up to 90% http://amzn.to/2pllk4B ➢➢➢➢➢➢➢➢➢➢ Subscribe to Socratica: http://bit.ly/1ixuu9W This video was made possible with the support of our Patrons on Patreon! Learn Python Episode #11: Lists (Arrays)

03:18
Get The Learn to Code Course Bundle! https://josephdelgadillo.com/product/learn-to-code-course-bundle/ Enroll in The Complete Python Course on Udemy! https://goo.gl/XW4Q1i In this video we are going to discuss lists and what they are in Python. So, if you have experience with programming in other languages, let's say PHP, you know to create an array, and what an array is. For those who do not have experience programming, an array is a way of keeping data organized and within a single construct. For single-dimensional arrays, we can implement it as a list in Python. To create a list in Python we use square brackets: ["Movies", "Games", "Python"] This becomes a list that has 3 indexes. To call the first item in the list you write the following: ["Movies", "Games", "Python"][0] Remember, when programming the first ID of the item in a list or an array will be 0. We can also concatenate a list item with a string. print("I Like" + ["Movies", "Games", "Python"][0]) If we were to change the index to number to 1 it would print out "I Like Games". So, that is what a list is in Python. It's just a way to create a collection under one variable. In the next video we will cover dictionaries. Python Programming Language | Data Types | Booleans, Lists Commands in Python | Lecture 3 |Continued

11:33
Python Programming Language: Computer Applications Python Programming Language | Data Types | Booleans, Lists Commands in Python | Lecture 3 | Continued Review: In the previous video, we had seen Python Coding: • Launching of Anaconda navigator • Jupyter notebook used for the presentation Primary Data Types • Integers • Decimal Number - floats • Strings In the current video we will see two more data types: • Booleans • Lists Open Jupyter Qt Console, it is one of the products which come along with Anaconda. Boolean:- • Boolean variable is a statement that can be either true or false. • Boolean variables are usually used for comparison • The comparison symbols used are as follows: o Less than o Less than & Equal o Greater than o Greater than & Equal o Equal to o Not Equal to • These will become very handy when we use IF statement, and the For Loops • Logical Arguments “And”, “Or” and “Not” are also introduced here. Illustration of these commands in the programs: Lists:- • A list is a sequence of objects; they do not necessarily have to be numbers Illustration of List in a program Illustration of 2 lists in a program and concatenation of two lists Range command:- • One way to create a list in Python is using the Range command, which is very common in Python. • Illustration of different ways of using the Range command to create List Slicing:- • Slicing works with List as it works with string, which we saw in the previous video – limiting the list to a certain value Illustration of slicing • We can change the elements in a list using this • Multiple elements can be changed simultaneously • We can also check if an element is present in the list • This will be helpful when we use IF Statement and For Loop • We can have list of Lists Methods that go with the list:- d.append d.count d.extend d.index d.insert d.pop d.remove d.reverse d.sort . Coding With Python :: Learn API Basics to Grab Data with Python

19:23
Coding With Python :: Learn API Basics to Grab Data with Python This is a basic introduction to using APIs. APIs are the "glue" that keep a lot of web applications running and thriving. Without APIs much of the internet services you love might not even exist! APIs are easy way to connect with other websites & web services to use their data to make your site or application even better. This simple tutorial gives you the basics of how you can access this data and use it. If you want to know if a website has an api, just search "Facebook API" or "Twitter API" or "Foursquare API" on google. Some APIs are easy to use (like Locu's API which we use in this video) some are more complicated (Facebook's API is more complicated than Locu's). More about APIs: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Api Code from the video: http://pastebin.com/tFeFvbXp If you want to learn more about using APIs with Django, learn at http://CodingForEntrepreneurs.com for just $25/month. We apply what we learn here into a Django web application in the GeoLocator project. The Try Django Tutorial Series is designed to help you get used to using Django in building a basic landing page (also known as splash page or MVP landing page) so you can collect data from potential users. Collecting this data will prove as verification (or validation) that your project is worth building. Furthermore, we also show you how to implement a Paypal Button so you can also accept payments. Django is awesome and very simple to get started. Step-by-step tutorials are to help you understand the workflow, get you started doing something real, then it is our goal to have you asking questions... "Why did I do X?" or "How would I do Y?" These are questions you wouldn't know to ask otherwise. Questions, after all, lead to answers. Average of numbers in a given list in python.

03:55
To watch all Python programs, Visit my channel 👇 https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCkktsFQAPJz8PkMr15gAhXw Or www.youtube.com/channel/Pratik Matkar Program Explanation 1. User must first enter the number of elements which is stored in the variable n. 2. The value of I ranges from 0 to the number of elements and is incremented each time after the body of the loop is executed. 3. Then, the element that the user enters is stored in the variable elem. 4. a.append(elem) appends the element to the list. 5. Now the value of i is incremented to 2. 6. The new value entered by the user for the next loop iteration is now stored in elem which is appended to the list. 7. The loop runs till the value of i reaches n. 8. sum(a) gives the total sum of all the elements in the list and dividing it by the total number of elements gives the average of elements in the list. 9. round(avg,2) rounds the average upto 2 decimal places. 10. Then the average is printed after rounding.
