This was our third time making this 48 hour, 4,000 mile (round trip) drive and we have learned many things along the way! Before we sold our house in Texas and drove into Puerto Vallarta, there were many things we didn't know about crossing the border and driving in Mexico (ie. how much tolls cost, how to fill up our tank, what to expect at military check points, and what paperwork we would need to cross). Street Food in Oaxaca - CHEESE CORN CHAMPION and Mexican Meat Alley Tour in Mexico!
►SUBSCRIBE for 2 new videos per week: http://bit.ly/MarkWiensSubscribe ►T-shirts available now: https://migrationology.com/store/ One of the places I was most excited to visit in Mexico for food (Comida Oaxaqueña) is Oaxaca. Oaxaca has one of the most developed and advanced food cultures in all of Mexico. For our first day, we set out on a Mexican street food tour of Oaxaca, eating everything we could see. Mercado de Abastos - We began the morning at one of the biggest local fresh food markets in Oaxaca. I samples a Tamal de Mole - 11 MXN ($0.59) and a hot Chocolate - 10 MXN ($0.53), both of which were delicious, and a great way to start this tour. Soup - 30 MXN ($1.60) per bowl - The market was just opening, but there was a busy soup stall, so we stopped to have a bowl. The fish and shrimp soup were both delicious. Memelas - 30 MXN ($1.60) total - One of the ultimate Mexican street foods to try in Oaxaca is memalas, a round of masa, cooked and topped with salsa and cheese, and your choice of other toppings. We got it with grilled meat on top. It was delicious, one of the best things I ate throughout the day. Carnitas - 30 MXN ($1.60) total - This was just a quick impulse taco on the go because it looked so good… it was. Zócalo Oaxaca, Plaza de Santo Domingo - The center of Oaxaca is a pleasant place to hang out, only today there happen to be a protest going on, so it was a bit busy. Mercado 20 de Noviembre - Meat combo - 300 MXN ($16.02) - This is one of the great meat halls of the world. You walk in to the meat sauna, choose your meat, they grill it all in front of you, and you eat it with tortillas and salsa. An amazing food paradise. Tlayudas El Negro - Tlayudas are another common Oaxacan street food, using giant tortillas filled with beans, cabbage, and cheese, and then grilled. Price - 80 MXN ($4.27) for 1 Monte Albán - Resting our stomachs, we did a little sightseeing in Oaxaca. One of the famous attractions are the ruins of Monte Alban. Elote - 20 MXN ($1.07) - You’ll find elotes, a corn on the cobb with cheese and salsas, all over Mexico. It’s one of the most common Mexican street foods… but this guy is at the main plaza of Oaxaca is on another level. His style is champion! Mole negro - 60 MXN ($3.20) per plate - Finally to end this Mexican street food tour of Oaxaca, we needed to have a plate of mole negro, one of the national dishes of Oaxaca. It was an amazing day of food. Oaxaca has such a rich culture of food and friendly people. Finishing our 2018 around the world trip in Cancun Mexico and Los Angeles In this video we finish our time in Cancun Mexico before we fly to Los Angeles before flying back home to Melbourne, Australia. Unfortunately this was the last video from our big around the world trip. We didn't do a lot over the last few days of our trip because of a mixture of feeling so exhausted from all the travelling and a lack of money left to do much. We would like to thank everyone who watched this video and every single video from the rest of our round the world trip, our 2018 world trip wouldn't have been as enjoyable without the support of those of you who have watched, liked and commented on our videos. We are WANDERWALKERS, Australian travel vloggers, Kayleigh June and Daniel Walker. We are Australians travellers who set out across the globe and decided to document our adventures along the way. Road Trip from Canada to Mexico (Playa Del Carmen) Day 3 of 9 (5)
Day 3 covers the Jacksonville, Arkansas to Cotulla Texas, leg of the trip. One SUV, one cat, one dog, and two adventure seekers traveling 6350 km/3945 miles over 9 days. This road trip from Montreal Canada to Playa del Carmen Mexico is a first for us. Driving to Mexico has its advantages over flying. We will be in Playa for 4 months with 2 pets so it seemed like the best option. We truly believe that life begins at the end of your comfort zone and stretches you in ways you never would have thought possible. Follow us on our journey down south. Things to consider before heading out: 1. Travel/Health Insurance. We used Securiglobe and you can obtain an online quote. We shopped around a bit and Securiglobe had the best price. They are brokers so you will have the option between several different providers. https://www.securiglobe.com/en/ 2. Car Insurance. Rolly Brook lists a few car insurance companies on his website. Many of them provide online quotes. http://www.rollybrook.com/auto-insura... 3. Mailbox and Mail Forwarding. You may opt to forward your mail to your location if you are staying for a while. What is great about this service is that they can scan and email you your mail or they can courier it to you. https://www.theupsstore.com/mailboxes... 4. Fuel Cost. We used roadtrippers.com to map out the trip along with google maps. Roadtrippers estimated our fuel cost at $425 and it ended up being CAD$485. https://roadtrippers.com/ 5. Mexican Vehicle Permit for extended stays. The permit is good for 6 months and cost 1236.44 pesos. The security deposit is payable in cash or on your credit card and was 8360 pesos. 6. Tourist Visa cost 390 pesos. Keep this! You will need it when exiting the country. Exit fee is 500 pesos. If you lose the visa card, you will be charged 1000 pesos. 7. Toll Highways "Cuotas". The Mexican toll highways cost us 2237 pesos. Even some of the toll roads were in very poor shape. It can be taxing on your vehicle. I personally would not attempt this road trip without a truck or SUV. Our Honda Civic would not have made it. 8. Speed Bumps "Topes". You would be amazed at where you find speed bumps in Mexico. Besides that, there is usually not much warning. Try to stick to the speed limit and keep your focus on the road ahead. 9. In some areas, you will find two lane highways with a dotted line on the right hand side of the road and a large paved shoulder. Vehicles on these roads drive partially in the shoulder, giving traffic in both directions a narrow amount of room to pass in the middle. Be careful when passing vehicles since an oncoming cars may try to pass at the same time. How expensive, or how cheap it is to really travel to Teotihuacan on a budget, one of the best pyramids in Mexico? In this video I'll show you an alternate to taking the 500 peso tour guide. I traveled from downtown Mexico City to Teotihuacan using public transit. My Full Cost Breakdown: Bus from CDMX to Autobuses del Norte station: 4 Pesos. (Alternatively you can take the Metro for 5 pesos) Bus from Del Norte Station to Teotihuacan (Round Trip): 104 Pesos Entrance to Teotihuacan: 70 pesos (45 pesos if you don't have a camera) Total: 174 pesos ~ $8.72USD ~ $11.40 CAD First Vlog is finally in the books, glad to have got that off my chest. The first of many vlogs documenting my Mexico to Peru $5000 budget challenge. I leave Mexico City the first stop of our journey, to Puebla and I'm excited to start exploring a new city.

When talking about how to fly cheap there are a few factors that you have to consider. One of them is where you are traveling from and where you are traveling to and how flexible are you with your departure airport and destination airport. The second thing is how flexibel are you with your date of travel. The more flexibility the easier it is to find cheap airline tickets. Another key factor to finding cheap flight is actually to find the best booking sites. But really the secret to cheap flights is combining all of those factors into one magic booking strategy. If you want to fly cheap you’ve got to be smart. So as I mentioned flexibility when booking airline tickets is one of the key factors in actually succeeding in finding the cheapest flights. That in term means finding the best booking sites means finding the most flexibel booking sites. There are some good options out there like flights.google.com or kayak.com. They let you enter 3-5 departure airports and 3-5 destination airports and you can be fairly flexible on the travel date. but for what we are looking for that is not good enough. Also many of the booking sites don’t show you all of the airfares because some of the fares are so discounted that the booking site wouldn’t get any commissions anymore. So found another secret to cheap airfare. Finding those fares that not even the booking sites have. Well I stumbled upon a website that combines all those factors into one beautiful beautiful packet . Jimi the Hobo's Trip Around Guadalajara and Tequila Mexico
I was on my way to San Jose, Costa Rica but missed my connecting flight in Guadalajara. Instead of paying nearly as much as I paid for my round trip ticket from LAX to San Jose for a one way ticket from Guadalajara to San Jose, I decided to just stay in Mexico. Guadalajara is a city in western Mexico. It’s known for tequila and mariachi music, both born in Jalisco, the state of which Guadalajara is the capital. Guadalajara’s historic center is dotted with colonial plazas and landmarks such as the neoclassical Teatro Degollado and a cathedral with twin gold spires. The Palacio del Gobierno houses famous murals by painter José Clemente Orozco. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guadalajara Santiago de Tequila (Spanish About this sound [teˈkila] (help·info); Nahuatl: Tequillan, Tecuila "place of tribute") is a town and municipality located in the state of Jalisco about 60 km from the city of Guadalajara. Tequila is best known as being the birthplace of the drink that bears its name, “tequila,” which is made from the blue agave plant, native to this area. The heart of the plant contains sugars and had been used by native peoples here to make a fermented drink. After the Spanish arrived, they took this fermented beverage and distilled it, producing the tequila known today. The popularity of the drink and the history behind it has made the town and the area surrounding it a World Heritage Site. It was also named a "Pueblo Mágico" (Magical Town) in 2003 by the Mexican federal government. Tequila has also been famous for being the prime setting in the successful Televisa telenovela Destilando Amor, starring Angélica Rivera and Eduardo Yáñez. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tequila,_Jalisco ------------------------- Support the Hobo Channel ------------------------- Hop Aboard the Hobo Train & Subscribe https://goo.gl/lHNGS4 Support the Hobo Channel on Patreon https://goo.gl/hjunlA Thank You for Subscribing, Sharing and Supporting My Channel -------------------------- Jimi the Hobo on Social Media ----------------------- Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/JimiTheHobo Twitter: https://twitter.com/JimiTheHobo Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/jimithehobo/ Snapchat: @jimithehobo --------------------- My Camera Gear & Editing Software --------------------- Canon EOS 80D Digital SLR Kit with EF-S 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 Image Stabilization USM Lens - http://amzn.to/2j2QOw1 DJI Mavic Pro - http://amzn.to/2jXl0WW GoPro 4 Black - http://amzn.to/2j5p8qO GoPro 3 Black - http://amzn.to/2iCO2KR Samsung Gear Real 360° http://amzn.to/2jqOrmm Feiyu Tech G4 Handheld Gimbal - http://amzn.to/2idHhOA Rode VideoMic Pro - http://amzn.to/2idA4OB Manfrotto Compact Action Tripod - http://amzn.to/2js55iH Cyberlink PowerDirector 15 Ultimate http://amzn.to/2jqZnjR

Grand Sirenis in Riviera Maya, Mexico
Follow us through our 5-day, 4-night vacation Grand Sirenis, an all-inclusive resort in Riviera Maya, Mexico. We purchased a Groupon Getaway for this trip and paid only $670/person for RT airfare, accommodations, all food and drink, and activities! The only thing we paid additionally was for the round trip transfer to/from the airport to/from the resort, which cost $70 total for both of us (waaayyyy cheaper than a cab, as it was about a 1.5 hour ride each way). We definitely recommend getting a Groupon for an all-inclusive resort, and if you do so, you will definitely enjoy your time at the Grand Sirenis! If you would like to spread some love and make a donation to The Christel House Mexico like we did, please visit: http://christelhouse.org/ and click "Donate Now."

It is amazing how much open-access geophysical data are available in the US Gulf of Mexico: 605 717 km of 2D seismic, which is nearly a round trip from Earth to Moon and 74 000 km sq of 3D seismic coverage, which is close to the area of Ireland. In addition to this, the entire northern Gulf of Mexico features fantastic bathymetry grid with the resolution of 12 m and thousands of wells with log data available for download. Such an excellent database provides wealth of information about the unique geology of the Gulf of Mexico for students and scholars all over the World. Don’t miss you chance!
