10 Great Mysteries Hidden in Famous Paintings

10:01
As you know, art is not just a source of inspiration but a great mystery too. Artists often add unique little details to their paintings or leave messages that are impossible to notice at first glance. We’ve collected painting masterpieces with surprising secrets. At the end of the video, there’s a bonus waiting for you: one of the strangest hypotheses about the Mona Lisa. Stay with us and learn the things that you never knew before. TIMESTAMPS The wrong ear 0:55 The painting under the painting 1:55 The Night Watch is set at daytime 2:41 The Sistine Chapel’s anatomical code 3:27 The symbol of strength 4:41 Rembrandt’s squint 5:10 Vengeance to lovers 5:55 Prediction of the end of the world 6:36 The world in yellow 7:48 Mozart and the Masons 8:31 Toothless Mona Lisa 9:02 SUMMARY - The discrepancy is explained by the fact that van Gogh used a mirror to create the picture of himself. It seems to be a strange and sharp reaction for van Gogh to cut off his ear. However, the history explains it with the fact that he was deeply in troubles and, apparently, losing his mind at the time of executing the painting. - If you look closely at The Old Guitarist by Pablo Picasso, you can see a ghostly female silhouette behind the man’s head in the top center of the painting. After taking infrared and X-ray images of the canvas, researchers from the Art Institute of Chicago discovered a few other shapes hidden underneath. - The Shooting Company of Frans Banning Cocq and Willem van Ruytenburch (better known as The Night Watch) is considered to be one of Rembrandt’s greatest portrait paintings which were executed at the top of his career. The painting depicts the militia fully equipped and readying them to embark on a mission. - The Creation of Adam by Michelangelo contains allusions to anatomy. They argue that the right part of the painting is an anatomically correct image of a huge brain. You can find even the most sophisticated components of the brain, such as the cerebellum, the optic nerve, and the pituitary gland. - The figures of David and Goliath in another fresco of the Sistine Chapel created by Michelangelo form the Hebrew letter gimel, which symbolizes strength in the mystical Kabbalah tradition. It is not a surprise that the shapes on the painting look so powerful, is it? - Margaret Livingstone and Bevil Conway studied Rembrandt’s self-portraits and proved that the painter suffered from stereoblindness. This peculiarity made the artist perceive the world a little differently: he saw reality in 2D instead of 3D. - One of the most famous paintings by Gustav Klimt portrays Adele Bloch-Bauer. It was commissioned by her husband, the sugar baron Ferdinand Bloch-Bauer. He found out that Adele and Klimt had an affair and believed that after hundreds of sketches the painter would come to hate his mistress. - The Italian researcher Sabrina Sforza Galitzia proposed an unusual interpretation of Leonardo da Vinci’s Last Supper. She says that the artist left a prediction of the end of the world in his painting, which will happen on March 21, 4006. - Almost all the paintings of Vincent van Gogh feature a dominant yellow. Professor Paul Wolf explains that as a side effect of an epilepsy remedy that changes color perception. - There is solid evidence that Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was a Mason. Even in his child portrait by Pietro Antonio Lorenzoni, we can see a Masonic symbol: a hidden hand that indicates a hierarchical rank in the secret society. - What is it that made Mona Lisa’s smile so enchanting and captivating? Dentist and art expert Joseph Borkowski carefully studied Leonardo da Vinci’s painting and claims to have unveiled the secret behind La Gioconda’s smile... #mystery #paintings #secretmeaning Subscribe to Bright Side : https://goo.gl/rQTJZz ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Our Social Media: Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/brightside/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/brightgram/ 5-Minute Crafts Youtube: https://www.goo.gl/8JVmuC  ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- For more videos and articles visit: http://www.brightside.me/

Hidden Secrets in The Worlds Most Famous Paintings

10:55
From Van Gogh’s Starry Night, to Leonardo Davinci’s Mona Lisa, here are 9 Hidden Secrets Within the World’s Most Famous Paintings. 9. The Old Guitarist, by Pablo Picasso Painted in 1903, shortly after the suicide of one of his closest friends, this painting depicts a solitary old guitar player, sitting in a seemingly awkward position. Having lived in near poverty himself, Pablo Picasso sympathizes with the miseries of those less fortunate in his artwork. This appears to be a very simple painting at first sight, but should one examine it a bit more closely, a faded outline of a face becomes noticeable to the right of the guitarist’s head. Infrared scans and x-rays of the painting have revealed that Picasso originally meant to paint a scene with a woman nursing a baby instead. A possible explanation for this ‘hidden’ painting could be that the artist simply didn’t have sufficient funds to purchase new canvases and painted new inspirations on top of previous work. 8. The Persistence of Memory, by Salvador Dali “I used melting cheese as inspiration for the clocks”, Salvador Dali admitted on the rare occasion when he talked about his works. Of course, he could’ve have been just joking about it in his attempts to keep the painting as mysterious as possible. What we do know, however, is that this painting was created while the artist was hallucinating. Dali’s goal was to be able to create ‘hand-painted dream photographs’, and to do that he believed he needed to enter in self-induced psychotic hallucination states. He admitted that what he creates during these states of altered consciousness often frightens and surprises him. Perhaps, Salvador Dali isn’t capable of explaining the true intentions of his works, since they were influenced by his subconscious and dreams that he himself doesn’t fully understand. While the backstory of the clocks may never be known, the background landscape in the painting is believed to be Dali’s view from his family’s summer house in Catalonia. 7. The Starry Night, by Van Gogh Vincent van Gogh's painting 'Starry Night' is considered one of the most historic pieces of art ever created. The artist painted it just a year before his passing in 1889. But it was only in 2004 that scientists discovered an uncanny resemblance between the swirling patterns in the painting and observations captured by the Hubble Telescope about spiralling clouds of gas and dust around a distant star. Ever stopped to wonder about where Vincent van Gogh’s inspiration for the ‘Starry Night’ came from? The swirling stars painted in 1889, just one year before his death, have been interpreted as the swirling emotions, beauty, pain and hope. But in 2004, scientists looking at images captured by the Hubble Telescope discovered a startlingly close resemblance between Van Gogh’s swirls and those that clouds of gas and dust form around a distant star! While living in an asylum, Van Gogh had plenty of time to star gaze, and the Starry Night painting is based off the exact view from his asylum room window. With all that time to ponder the world beyond, scientist believed Van Gogh stumbled upon the complex concept of turbulence, which explains the whirlpools and eddies that form in clouds. It is also said that van Gogh was referencing the Book of Genesis, since he painted exactly eleven stars in the night sky, and a handful of other parallels to complex scientific theories have been spotted in his other works. 6. The Scream, by Edvard Munch Not a well-kept secret, this painting by Edvard Munch actually has several versions of it even a lithograph on stone, all done by the artist, trying out different materials and techniques. While this painting is now widely known by the name ‘the Scream’, its original title, intended by the creator, was actually ‘the Scream of Nature’, and is based off a phantasmagoric delusion the artist had off the water below a bridge he was crossing with his friends turning to fire while a scream pierced the world and tore through nature. The placement of the hands and hollowed cheeks have an uncanny similarity to the hand placement of mummies buried in the fetal position. Edvard Munch often painted with the blues, greens and purples of the Norwegian night sky. This painting reveals an homage to one of the most violent volcanic eruptions in history. The Krakatoa, a gray volcano in Indonesia, erupted in 1883 producing the strongest heard explosion ever recorded - 180 decibels and heard over 160 kilometers away. The event killed everyone within 20 kilometers and volcanic ashes rose into the atmosphere. 5. The Sistine Chapel Ceiling, painted by Michelangelo 4. Pope Paul III and his Grandsons, by Titian 3. The Arnolfini portrait, by Jan van Eyck 2. Rembrandt’s self portraits 1. The Mona Lisa, by Leonardo da Vinci

5 Secret Codes Hidden in Famous Paintings!

04:54
5 Secret Codes Hidden in Famous Paintings! Description: Historically, painters have been considered some of the most intelligent people on Earth. Before modernity, artists and poets were also skilled mathematicians, historians, scientists, and inventors, and just as artists and writers today hide secret messages in their movies, music, and books, artists of yesteryear included their own secret messages in their paintings. These are 5 secret codes hidden in famous paintings! Let’s begin! 5.) The Final Reckoning, The Last Supper The Last Supper is a painting famous for its possible hidden meanings. The Last Supper was created by Leonardo DaVinci, from which the DaVinci code was named. While a number of theories exist about possible messages, alternative interpretations, and hidden meanings, the most interest and least overexposed is that the painting of Jesus’s last moments with his followers might actually include Da Vinci’s prediction of the end of the world. According to Da Vinci, the world would end because of a flood, similar to that in the Bible. It’s believed that math in the geometric shapes within the Last Supper might point to the time of the end of the world - 4006 A.D. 4.) Painting of John Dee http://www.smithsonianmag.com/smart-news/a-painting-of-john-dee-astrologer-to-queen-elizabeth-i-contains-a-hidden-ring-of-skulls-180957860/ John Dee was an advisor to Queen Elizabeth I. While he studied math and astronomy, he also an Occultist and magician to the Queen herself, and some even consider him the inspiration for James Bond due to his signature which was 007. One famous painting of John Dee was created by a Victorian painter named Henry Gillard Glindoni displayed a courtroom scene where Dee would is performing a magical ritual in front of Elizabeth and her guests. What you can’t see is the secret circle of skulls hidden within the painting, which was only later revealed once the painting was x-rayed. Creepier even, is the fact that the skulls appear to have an ethereal, fiery or smoky quality to them. We’ll never know why those skulls are there, and why the painter removed them. 3.) Madonna with Saint Giovannino, Aliens If UFOs are the product of extraterrestrial life, it stands to reason that perhaps, just maybe, they have visited earth longer than we’ve realized - perhaps sightings of UFOs go back hundreds or even thousands of years ago, and it’s only because of differences in language and culture that we don’t realize it. Could it be, perhaps, that UFOs were considered then to be products of the supernatural or spiritual? In this painting, arguments have been made that a UFO can be seen in the background of this painting. Just behind Mary’s head, a UFO can be seen in the background, surrounding by a glowing white, with a bystander covering his eyes from it. Could this painting, credited to an artist named Ghirlandaio, signal some type of association between Christianity and extraterrestrials or UFOs? We may never know. 2.) Et in Arcadia ego Et in Arcadia ego, or The Arcadian Shepherds, is a painting that depicts shepherds who have come across a tomb, was created by an artist named Poussin. The tomb bears the inscription, “Even in Arcadia, there am I,” and this has led some people to suggest the location of a secret treasure. That treasure might be the body of a knight templar, the body of Jesus Christ himself, the location of the holy grail, or some other historic artifact of religious significance. It may also point the way to treasure. It’s believed that the physical scenery of the location reflects the location of the real life treasure, and a coded message found near the location may have said “Poussin holds the key.” 1.) Sistine Chapel The ceiling of the Sistine Chapel is likely Michelangelo’s most famous work, a living landmark that you can still go and see today in the Vatican. The painting was commissioned from Michelangelo by the Catholic church, but it actually contains quite a few hidden, coded messages that let us know how Michelangelo really felt about his employers. One of the most famous alleged codes is in the Creation of Adam, which is actually believed to reflect the morphology of the human brain, and other paintings are said to include images of the nervous system. The painting of David and Goliath is said to feature secret Hebrew glyphs. Best of all - one of the paintings includes an image of an angel giving the Pope the finger. 7 SECRET Messages Hidden in Famous Art

08:18
7 SECRET Messages Hidden in Famous Art These are 7 SECRET Messages Hidden in Famous Art such as The Last Supper, a painting of Bill Clinton, and more. Narration provided by JaM Advertising New Mexico www.tasteofjam.com Leonardo Da Vinci was a man of many talents; he was an inventor, architect, scientist, sculptor, and of course an artist. But there’s one more talent Da Vinci is known for which may have been hidden in one of his most famous works, The Last Supper, and that talent was music. Michelangelo’s The Creation of Adam is one of the most iconic images in human history, depicting the Book of Genesis scene where God breathes life into Adam…through his fingers obviously, because a painting of the Lord Almighty going mouth to mouth with Adam may have been a little risqué for the walls of the Sistine Chapel. But in 1990 an American physician Dr Frank Meshberger noticed something familiar about the area surrounding God. What is that weird shape that the Lord seems to be crowdsurfing out from? Take a look at this image of Domenico Ghirlandaio’s painting the Madonna with Saint Giovannino and see what catches your eye immediately. Is it the attractive lady in the centre, perhaps it’s the baby with the low slung slacks trying to give her a high five while an angel baby checks out his sweet six pack. That kid is more ripped than I’ll ever be. Or maybe the first thing you noticed was the strange object hovering in the sky, and the dude below it wondering what the hell it is. 4.) A Message For The Pope This is Michelangelo’s The Prophet Zechariah, and it was painted in the Sistine Chapel in 1512 during the reign of Pope Julius the second. Now to say Pope Julius wasn’t everybody’s favourite is a bit like saying people thought the new Call of Duty trailer looked a little crappy. Julius the second was known as Il Papa Terrible, and you can translate that for yourself. But Michelangelo wasn’t a fan either, and it is believed that he painted Zechariah in a way which closely resembles Pope Julius. So we already know that Leonardo Da Vinci likes to hide musical scores in his work, but what secrets could possibly remain hidden in the Mona Lisa, one of the world’s most famous pictures of someone being forced to smile on picture day? Many theories have been thrown around regarding the layout of the picture, such as the idea that Mona Lisa was pregnant due to the arrangements of her hands, that she may have been a prostitute due to her lack of facial hair, and when the image was analysed by a doctor he noticed that Mona Lisa may have been suffering from a tumour in her right eye, a tumour Da Vinci clearly must’ve noticed, so did he tell her? This is a portrait of former President Bill Clinton which hangs in the Smithsonian Natural Portrait Gallery, and its artist Nelson Shanks has admitted that hidden within the painting is a reference to one of the most shocking moments of Clinton’s presidency. 1.) The Mysterious Musical Maestro This is a painting of classical composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart when he was just six years old. The painting was created by Pietro Antonio Lorenzoni in 1763, but did you know that the way Mozart is depicted hints at his membership of the world’s most secretive society? The mysterious Freemasons.

12 Famous Images with Hidden Messages

08:28
From hidden messages hidden in the logos we see everyday, to secret messages of iconic paintings from the renaissance here are 12 Famous Images with Hidden Messages ! Subscribe to American Eye http://goo.gl/GBphkv 12. The Music Lesson 11. Goodwill Logo 10. The Apple Logo Alright so we’re all familiar with apple and their large variety of products but what does their logo even mean? The current logo we see is an apple with a bite taken out of it. The bite actually needed to be there otherwise it would look too similar to another fruit or even a cherry. But the logo we see today is actually meant to represent scientific advancement through the ages. How is that possible? It’s just an apple! Good Question. The original logo is one we see here, displaying Isaac Newton sitting under a tree before he made the discovery of gravity. Story has it that the apple dropped on his head, before he came up with his revolutionary theory. 9. Sistine Chapel 8. Amazon.com Amazon’s logo has changed quite a bit within the past decade but the one we see today is the most recognizable. You probably don’t really notice too much the little orange arrow from the A to the Z. This is supposed to signify the company’s ability to provide you with products! Everything from A to Z is basically what they sell and that’s what the name is try to represent 7. Starbucks Coffee 6. Cafe at the Terrace This is one of Van Gogh’s most celebrated paintings and it displays a scene at the city of Arles in southern France of a cafe in the evening. But could this well-known painting be more than what meets the eye? Many historians actually believe this is a portrayal of the last supper where Jesus eats his last meal with the 12 disciples. If you count the people at this cafe, you’ll notice 12 people and the person in the middle seems to be wearing white, with long brown hair, kind of like Jesus. Is this just simply a coincidence? Possibly Or was van gogh trying to display a religious scene in a seemingly non religious painting. Many believe it wasn’t simply a coincidence, since Van Gogh was actually quite religious.. 5. Man, Controller of the Universe 4. Beats Logo Another logo image here we’ll explain that has some hidden meanings to it. Here you see the beats by Dre logo which just basically looks like a red circle with a lowercase B but it’s a little bit more than that if you look closely. The circle can actually be considered a head and the the lowercase b is in the shape of a circle too. This would leave one to believe that the b is indeed the headphones and the red circle is actually someone’s head. So the whole time the logo is someone wearing the product, or close enough. 3. BMW 2. Noah’s Ark We all know about the story of Noah bringing two of every animal into his huge ark before god sent an enormous flood to wipe out the known world. It’s been told countless times and it ends up in children's books over and over again. One male and one female of every animal so they could repopulate the earth once the flood was over, right?! Well hold one a minute! This children's book displayed a two lions but there’s something not quite right about this one. Both of the lions have manes making them both male. Some debate whether this was a silly mistake by the illustrator or if this was done on purpose to send a message about homosexuality. Others believe they were trying to insert hidden messages about tolerance among christians, in the kid’s book. But either way you look at it, the lions are going to have trouble repopulating, if this is the case. 1. The Last Supper

Top 10 SECRETS In FAMOUS Paintings!

Amazing hidden mysteries in popular art! These are the best most interesting and mind blowing unsolved well known masterpieces! number 10, The Persistence of Memory. Salvador Dali blew art enthusiasts away with his warped clock and watch designs. It was rumored he gained inspiration through Albert Einsteins theory of special relativity. though after questioned about the topic, he was quick to correct the misleading information, and ensures the love for his art stems from the thought of a beautiful cheese melting in the sun. The Persistence of Memory carried features and meaning only the trained eye can see, with a commonly used creature like figure towards the center, with details such as the ants you can see roaming around on the clock to the left, symbolizing deterioration, and the exquisite rock landscape to the right, giving hidden representation of his love and origins of many masterpieces, Catalonia. His art would be the first of its kind, taking his vision straight through history, right to this spot on The Trending. number 9, Cafe Terrace at Night. The creation of cafe terrace was arguably Van Gogh’s most iconic creation. The effects of the painting have drawn travelers and people of religion around the world to experience this famous location in person, with hopes to indulge in the natural energy beaming from the Cafe. what gives the cafe terrace such extra attention and importance is the close resemblance to, The Last Supper. Stemming from an extremely religious family with his father being a minister, gave anyone interested reason to believe there was a hidden relation behind his art motives and beliefs in Christianity. in the sense of giving light to this idea, counting the 12 people dining is the first co-inky dink. noticing the amount of crosses you can find throughout the painting will keep the theory alive. Not to mention the man in white robe giving a real jesusy vibe. Discovering ideas or possible motives of Van Gogh's cafe terrace could help solve the mystery of The Last Supper and keep us pushing for answers as we find new ways to decode the meanings behind the art left to us by the great Van Gogh and Da Vinci. Number 8, Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel. The Creation of Adam is one of the most interesting illustrations to grace the heavenly walls of the Sistine Chapel. With Adam and all his glory flopping over the mountain tops of gods newly created planet, giving a perfect image never to be forgotten, ever. You can see Adam reaching to touch fingers with his creator, as god descends toward him surrounded by a glorified red bed sheet. If you haven't noticed already, the red sheet around him has the shape of the almighty human brain, with the vertebral and cerebellum artery in clear sight. The artist was known to have a vast knowledge of the body and subject of anatomy. Its one of many recent discoveries found on the holy walls of the Sistine Chapel relating to the human body and essential organs required for human life. Michelangelo was also believed to have drawn this in attempt to discretely bring forth the acceptation of science, but thats all speculation. Theres also the hint of hidden Hebrew lettering throughout the vast collage. Having such a large amount of specific details with so many questions, combined with the mass of this legendary statement, can only give you a brief moment inside the possibilities of Michelangelos mind and his message to the world.

SECRETS HIDDEN IN WORLDS FAMOUS PAINTINGS|WORLD'S FAMOUS PAINTINGS లో ఉన్న నమ్మలేని రహస్యాలు

04:20
These are 7 SECRET Messages Hidden in Famous Art such as The Last Supper, and more.

Leonardo da Vinci painting Secrets

10:02
Leonardo Da Vinci: from his famous painting wired UC (Unidentified Creatures) are found. he hide these pictures by a techniques call mirror writing. Leonardo di ser Piero da Vinci was an Italian Renaissance polymath: painter, sculptor, architect, musician, mathematician, engineer, inventor, anatomist, geologist, cartographer, botanist, and writer. Among the works created by Leonardo in the 16th century is the small portrait known as the Mona Lisa or "la Gioconda", the laughing one. In the present era it is arguably the most famous painting in the world. Its fame rests, in particular, on the elusive smile on the woman's face, its mysterious quality brought about perhaps by the fact that the artist has subtly shadowed the corners of the mouth and eyes so that the exact nature of the smile cannot be determined. The shadowy quality for which the work is renowned came to be called "sfumato" or Leonardo's smoke. Vasari, who is generally thought to have known the painting only by repute, said that "the smile was so pleasing that it seemed divine rather than human; and those who saw it were amazed to find that it was as alive as the original".[78][nb 21] Leonardo's most famous painting of the 1490s is The Last Supper, painted for the refectory of the Convent of Santa Maria della Grazie in Milan. The painting represents the last meal shared by Jesus with his disciples before his capture and death. It shows specifically the moment when Jesus has just said "one of you will betray me". Leonardo tells the story of the consternation that this statement caused to the twelve followers of Jesus. Despite the recent awareness and admiration of Leonardo as a scientist and inventor, for the better part of four hundred years his fame rested on his achievements as a painter and on a handful of works, either authenticated or attributed to him that have been regarded as among the masterpieces.[65] Leonardo da Vinci wrote most of his personal notes in mirror, only using standard writing if he intended his texts to be read by others. The purpose of this practice by Leonardo remains unknown, though several possibilities have been suggested. For example, writing left handed from left to right would have been messy because the ink just put down would smear as his hand moved across it. Writing in reverse would prevent such smudging. song Link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UDU6bGkaWm4

11 Mysteries of Famous Icons People Don’t Know About

10:24
A lot of works of art and architecture are famous all around the world, but we often don’t know a lot about them. Here's a list of 11 of the most intriguing ones. We were amazed at what we found out, and we are sure that so will you! TIMESTAMPS The top-floor apartment of the Eiffel Tower 0:34 The broken chain of the Statue of Liberty 1:27 The Isleworth Mona Lisa 2:07 The time capsule in Mount Rushmore 2:55 The Matterhorn at Disneyland 4:10 The Sphinx’s original appearance 4:54 The creation of the Leaning Tower of Pisa 5:46 The face of Rembrandt’s Danaë 6:42 The name of the most famous tourist attraction in Britain 7:48 The color of the Golden Gate Bridge 8:38 The sky in the painting The Scream 9:16 SUMMARY - Gustave Eiffel, the man who designed France’s most popular monument, built and fitted out an apartment for himself on its top floor. He often used it to rest and receive guests. - The monument was presented to the USA by the people of France in honor of the 100th anniversary of the American Revolution. It symbolizes freedom, democracy, and the repeal of any kind of slavery. This is the reason why a broken chain lies at the feet of the Statue. - It’s a well-known fact that many artists have reproduced the famous Mona Lisa. But it’s believed that there is one other portrait painted by da Vinci himself, and it’s not a copy. What is interesting is that the second version if painted from a slightly different perspective. - During the construction of this famous monument, architect Gutzon Borglum wanted to create a Hall of Chronicles inside the cliff face. He wanted it to be a secret room where future generations would find the fundamental records about the USA’s history. For this purpose, he excavated a cave behind the head of Abraham Lincoln. - The Matterhorn at Disneyland was designed and named after a mountain in the Alps. Climbers used the basketball court and staging area to prepare for scheduled climbs or to pass the time when the weather was bad. - The Great Sphinx of Giza is the oldest statue in the world. Originally, it was decorated with bright paint, but because it’s has been far too long since the statue was constructed, now we can only see some fragments of the paint behind the ears. It also had a nose and a ceremonial beard. - The famous tower has many secrets. Everybody knows that the tower is leaning, but very few people know who build the bell tower for Pisa’s cathedral. One of the reasons for this mystery is that it was built over the course of nearly 200 years, so it definitely couldn’t have been one person. - Rembrandt started painting Danaë two years after his marriage to Saskia van Uylenburgh. The artist depicted his wife in many of his paintings, so it was a mystery for a long time who was in Danaë. - You probably know that «Big Ben» doesn’t refer to the whole tower in the British Houses of Parliament, but instead only to the large bell within it. Now the official name of the structure is «The Elizabeth Tower». - It took a long time to agree on the construction with the United States Navy. The Navy wanted it to be painted in black and yellow stripes so that it would be visible in the fog. In the end, the architect of the bridge, Irving Morrow convinced the military to paint it a dark orange color. - In 2003, a group of astronomers suggested a theory that the bright scarlet color of the sky that astounded the artists so much was caused by the Krakatoa volcano eruption in 1883. A huge amount of volcanic dust was thrown up into the atmosphere so that people could observe bright flame-like sunsets all around the world. The Mona Lisa is a half-length portrait of Lisa Gherardini by the Italian Renaissance artist Leonardo da Vinci, which has been described as "the best known, the most visited, the most written about, the most sung about, the most parodied work of art in the world". The painting is a portrait of Lisa Gherardini, the wife of Francesco del Giocondo, and is in oil on a white Lombardy poplar panel, and is believed to have been painted between 1503 and 1506. Leonardo may have continued working on it as late as 1517. It was acquired by King Francis I of France and is now the property of the French Republic, on permanent display at the Louvre Museum in Paris since 1797. Mona Lisa Live..!!!! Short and sweet video you haven’t seen before That covers most of the secrets of Mona Lisa. Mona Lisa Video Script. Hello I’m Mona Lisa and I want to talk with you about me and my painting. My original name is Lisa Gherardini, born in Florence on 15 June 1479.My husband’s name is Francesco del Giocondo, a cloth and silk merchant who later became a local official. I’m being popular for my painting by the Great Italian artist Leonardo da vinci who painted between 1503 - 1506. The subject's expression, which is frequently described as enigmatic. The enigmatic facial expression of my face in the painting is still an unresolved mystery. I’m a mother of five children: , Piero, Camilla, Andrea, Giocondo, and Marietta. My painting has two purposes to have commissioned portrait to celebrate both my son Andrea's birth, and the purchase of the family's home. Now it is the property of the French Republic, on permanent display at the Louvre Museum in Paris since 1797. My painting in the Louvre has a room of its own. It is protected in a climate controlled environment and encased in bullet proof glass. The room was built exclusively for the painting and it cost the museum over seven million dollars! On 21 August 1911, my painting was stolen from the Louvre. Louvre employee Vincenzo Peruggia had stolen me by entering the building during regular hours, hiding in a broom closet, and walking out with me hidden under his coat after the museum had closed. Two years later the thief was found. The use of bulletproof glass has shielded my portrait to save me from subsequent attacks. My painting has an imperfection. In 1956, a man named Ugo Ungaza threw a stone at the painting. This resulted in a small patch of damaged paint next to my left elbow. Before the 1962–63 tour, my painting was assessed for insurance at $100 million. The insurance was not bought. Instead, more was spent on security. Adjusted for inflation using the US Consumer Price Index, $100 million in 1962 is around US$782 million in 2015 making it, in practice, by far the most valued painting in the world. In 2014 a France 24 article suggested that my painting could be sold to help ease the national debt, although it was noted that my painting and other such art works were prohibited from being sold due to French heritage law which states that "Collections held in museums that belong to public bodies are considered public property and cannot be otherwise." In 2014, 9.3 million people visited the Louvre, Former director Henri Loyrette reckoned that "80 percent of the people only want to see my painting." Thanks for hearing my story. I’ll come back with some more interesting fact and talk with you again soon.
