When someone is persuaded, it's amazing how positive things turn out. Some psychology on how to persuade someone, empathy, and your personal development off of it will be talked about. You probably like to think of yourself as a rational human being like when you have a decision to make, you take all the information you make a pros and cons list and you add that up to make the best decision possible. But you're a human being and the truth of human beings is we are far more irrational than we'd like to admit. Oftentimes, our decisions come down to the smallest irrational things and oftentimes, that can be just a few words which is why in this video, I want to give you 6 phrases that you can use to turn the tide in your favor when you're trying to persuade someone to do something that you might like. Now, this is not going to be a substitute for really developing a true persuasive strategy, it's not a substitute for empathy but start adding these phrases into your vocabulary and I think you will be shocked with how quickly and how effective they are. So, the first one is when you're coming up against a gatekeeper and the phrase is simply going to be — "Have you ever made an exception?" So in this video, I will break down what to say when someone asks you to sell a pen, so you will be able to create a jaw dropping scene and crush any sales interview. when they ask this question, they will be able to see how good you are selling any product by your response. Your resume will come in second if you can demonstrate the art of selling, because that’s what it is. An art. There are four sales skills the person asking is looking for when you get asked to sell a pen. The following is the right framework so that you can respond perfectly every time. First, they want to see how well you gather information. Second, how well you respond to information. Third, how you deliver information. And last, how you ask for something, or how you close. You find out how they last used the pen, emphasize the importance of the activity they last used the pen for, sell something bigger than the pen, you know, get emotions involved. Then close it by making an offer he simply can’t decline. What if he says he’s not interested in buying your pen? Move on and realize you’re better off spending your time selling the pen to someone else. So just remember that you’re not selling the pen, but you’re demonstrating how well you can sell a product and if you master the framework and the art of selling. There is nothing more frustrating to a prospect than when a salesperson fumbles through a sales call without a clear objective. One of the best phone sales tips out there is to use a script that lays out exactly how you will open the call, what you're going to ask, and how you will close the call. No more winging it. When you get a good prospect on the phone, it’s a knucklehead move to just wing that call. Script the hell out of your sales calls—even those that aren't cold calls. Phone Sales Tips #2: Take risks. For some reason, salespeople live in fear of calls. It’s as if the prospect will be able to reach through the phone and stab us in the eyes—that’s how scared we are of picking up the phone. But they can't touch us, and they can't hurt us. And you know what? If you screw up a call, so what? Big deal. It doesn't matter. The prospect won't even remember next month anyway. Be willing to take risks with your calls and if the prospect is being wishy-washy, call that person to task. If the prospect tells you to call back next month, ask, “Are you just trying to get rid of me, or do you actually want me to call?” Phone Sales Tips #3: Don't just use the phone. This might seem like it goes against all the other phone sales tips I just shared with you. But the truth is, the phone works best in conjunction with other powerful sales tools. When you call a prospect and you don't get through, it’s time to leave a voicemail, send an email, send over a package, and then call again. In fact, planning out your entire prospecting campaign is going to make your sales calls that much more effective. This way, your prospects are going to know who you are by the time you actually get them on the phone. Phone Sales Tips #4: Call high. If you’re going to make hundreds or even thousands of calls per month, investing countless hours in the activity, do you want to be calling the decision maker or just some lemming who’s going to have to ultimately pitch you to the boss? It's time to call high. Whoever you're calling now is probably lower level than you really should be calling. If you're calling managers, start calling directors. If you've been calling directors, start calling VPs or CEOs. The higher you call, the more you maximize your return on those calls. Phone Sales Tips #5: Call early, call late, and call often. Now that we've established that you're going to call high, the question is, how do you actually get through to that person? And the solution is simple. (By the way, I want to make a disclaimer here: 99% of readers will ignore this tip, but the 1% who implement it will make a lot of money.) High-level prospects typically work from 7AM to 7PM. In fact, many work from 6AM to 9PM. The data shows us that almost all CEOs work a few hours on Saturday. But when do gatekeepers work? Nine to five. Maybe 8:30 to 5:30 if they're workaholic-type admins. The bottom line is that when you call your high-level prospects early and late—and even on Saturdays—they are there. And best of all, their gatekeepers are not.

Tom, you were with her last. Tom That was last night at the pub. She was drowning her sorrows. Denise Drowning her sorrows? Tom Yeah. She saw Dave from IT with another woman – Julie from accounts, actually. She was very upset. Denise Oh poor Anna. Paul So you left her drowning in the pub? And who's got the prototype aubergine to show at the launch? Tom Oh no! Anna has. It's in her bag. What are we going to do? Denise Panic! Paul No Denise. Calm down. I'll just have to make a start and I'm sure Anna will turn up. OK, here goes. Excuse me everyone, could you all gather round? Our presentation is about to begin. We're going to talk about shopping today. As you can see, I have to go shopping because our budget -- we usually have a big magazine, and I'm down to this poor little piece of paper. But my dinner is on, so why don't we go to the board. Now, ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, something we have to do wherever you go. You do it in your own country. We do it here. What I'm going to teach you is the vocabulary for basic shopping. So there -- we have two other videos on engVid that talk about shopping and specific things. You can go and watch those as well. I recommend you do. But for now, just so you can go into a store anywhere that they speak English and get what you want, when you need it, the way you want it, we're going to do this lesson right now. So the first thing you want to do is -- well, you want to know if it's on sale. "Sale" means "cheaper price". So that's what we mean, "is it on sale?" The first thing you can ask, like, "Do you have anything on sale?" For instance: Club Savings. All these foods are on sale. Regular price 20, now 17. I'm saving money. So "sale" really means -- s-a for "save". You're saving money because you're going to pay less than the actual, original price. Which leads me to the next word: "price" and "cost". For some of you guys you're like, "We know these things." But it's actually using it properly or effectively. You can say, "How much does it cost?" which is different than "price". They're similar -- not same. "Cost" means "what do I have to give you". "Price" is what -- what the actual money is. So you can say, "How much does this cost me?" Maybe two hours. And I'm using it differently than price. So similar -- not same. So what is the "price"; what is the "cost". And they will tell you how much money you have to give them, okay? Cool. That comes with the word "pay". When you have a price or cost and you give them money, you must "pay". I work in an English school, and people have to "pay". That means, "Give the money." But you can give not just money, but different things in different forms. So one of the things we can do is, we can use our credit cards. Everybody -- not everyone. A lot of people have it if you're over 18 -- piece of plastic that you give, and they say, "This is worth this much money, and you can use your card to pay with it." Okay? Visa, American Express, MasterCard -- these are credit cards. Debit. In North America, we're in love with our debit cards. It's a card that you get from your bank that has direct access to your account. So not like a credit card where the bank is lending you some money or letting you take some money for now, and you pay it back. That's the "credit card". Debit is right in your account, so if you have $500, they literally -- oh, sorry, "literally" means "really", "in reality", or "actually" -- take the money out of your account. So you can use either debit or credit to pay. And my favourite, favourite of everyone's -- I don't have any: cash. Cash. Money. The old fashion way of doing things, right? Give them the money -- transaction done. "Transaction" is when you do business. You "transact" because one thing goes to another. You get product; they get money. It's a "transaction", okay? Taxes. Every country has them. In some countries, like England -- where they speak the Queen's English -- taxes are included. So if it says $15, it's $15. But folks, I live in Canada. And what you see is not what you get. $15 becomes $16.50. $100 becomes $115. $1,000 is -- $1,150. That's right. Our taxes are not included. So when you come to America or Canada, be careful because you might actually have to pay taxes. You see this, "Incl.": "taxes included". It will be taxes -- it's good. It means price -- what you pay. Most of the times, you won't see anything, and it means "add more money". "Taxes" are what the government gets -- okay. Understand this. It's what the government gets for you buying something because they want their money, too. Anyway.

The phrases “high ticket” and “low ticket” refer to the prices of the items you are selling. A “low ticket” item would be a low-cost item like a mug. A high-ticket item would be a couch that costs hundreds to thousands of dollars. So a high ticket Shopify dropshipping store might be a furniture store where you sell things like couches, tables and chairs. QUESTION: Why would you choose to build a high ticket dropshipping store? The reason why a lot of people are excited at the idea of this is because you can earn a lot of money from just a single sale. If you make a 30% profit from a $10 sale of a mug, then that is only $3 in profit. Whereas, if you sold a $1,000 couch and made a 30% profit margin, then you would make $300. In theory, it should be easiest to sell a single large item versus a lot of smaller items. QUESTION: Is it easier to make money from a high ticket dropshipping store? Our opinion is that for most beginners, they will struggle to make money from selling high ticket items compared to low ticket products. Why? Well it’s because there is a very different mentality of a customer when they come to purchase an expensive product versus a cheaper one. When customers come to purchase expensive items like couches, they do not take those purchases lightly. Spending $1,000 on an item like a couch is a large purchase, and so customers will research their options before they purchase to purchase the best couch. Another reason why customers will take a lot of time to research their options is because expensive items like couches tend to be big and bulky. Thus if a customer is looking to purchase one, they will be very analytical in their purchase, as they will need to consider both the logistics of receiving the couch, and in getting rid of their old one. It is also very difficult to refund and exchange large, bulky items like this, so customers will be researching their options carefully do that they don’t pick the wrong one. It would also be very expensive and frustrating to purchase a different couch if they didn’t like the first one (let alone the annoyance in having to get rid of the one they didn’t like). So they’ll be researching all of their options carefully to make the right choice the first time. Because customers will be researching their options, it means that you’ll now be competing with big brands and stores. For example, if you opened a furniture Shopify store, you’d now be competing against brands like IKEA, Pottery Barn and Ashley Homestore that will show up when customers start to Google and search for their different options. To be able to compete with these big brands, you will need to: #1: Build up enormous trust between you and the potential customer High ticket purchases are a big deal for customers. They will want to be able to trust that they can trust you’ll be selling them a high quaity product, and that it will be delivered to them. Big brands like IKEA already have that trust built up with customers already. #2: You will need to send the customer through a sales funnel. A simple, basic Shopify store is not going to be enough. You are going to have to create a much slicker looking store and have an excellent, well writen and designed sales page. You’ll also need to provide a phone number, and be prepared to close sales over the phone. You will also need to have a LOT of start-up money set aside as you’ll need to be able to buy these items when customer purchase them. Whereas, with low ticket dropshipping, you are selling items that cost $15 or less. They are so cheap that a significant group of customers purchase them impulsively, and they don’t do a search to price-check the competition because they think they think the item you’re selling is such a good deal already. This form of dropshipping also requires less start-up money. For these reasons, we recommend that unless beginners have a mentor to guide them through the process of setting a store like this up and running one, that they stick to lower cost products.

They have 15 salespeople on staff and specialize in the world of accounting software. Here's why he was stressed out... The product they offer costs a third of what their competitors charge, is more reliable, is easier to learn and use. Even with all this in their favor the leads they were producing were not converting into sales. This company, their sales strategy was to follow up with individuals who had indicated some level of interest by completing a form on a website and requesting additional information. Sharing their name, phone number and email address. On the surface these should be very hot leads, a no brainer with a high success rate...but this wasn't happening. Unfortunately, time and time again their sales people were getting shot down before they even had a chance to start. Here's what was going on. As soon as the sales rep got the lead they would pick up the phone and make the call. When the potential customer answered, they said: "Hi Mr. Prospect, this is Jim Smith with XYZ Company, how are you today?" When they made the call they were hearing, not interested, thanks for calling... I'm in a meeting call me back, were good thanks... How is this possible? These weren't cold calls into companies that had never heard of them. These were highly targeted leads that provided their contact information -- voluntarily -- can you spot where things went downhill? There are 4 words that only salespeople use when starting a sales call... How are You Today. As soon as the person who answered the phone heard those 4 words, How are You Today -- their mind translated them into -- Sales Call. No one wants to take a sales call. And this is exactly what was happening to them. Even though they were calling individuals who had specifically requested information... Perception is reality. The problem was that they were starting their conversations in the exact same way every other salesperson was... How are You Today. The person answering the phone may or may not have heard them say their company name but they sure recognized those 4 words and automatically jumped to the habit or pattern they have in place to deal with salespeople and cold calls. Our lives are made of habits. We all have behavior patterns that are habits. Usually habits are useful; our brains become so efficient at doing something we can do it automatically without even thinking about them. Even when it may not be in our best interest. Coaching to the idea of; If you want something different do something different, we made a very small adjustment. There is a specific branch of psychology called NLP. One of the techniques NLP teaches is something called a pattern interrupt. A Pattern interrupt is exactly what it sounds like. It's when we say or do something that interrupts the automatic patterns and habits our prospects have. We are able to grab their attention...if only for a few moments. The company with the best product is no better off than the company with the worst product if no one is listening. The competition they don't have this Mindset, Strategy and Technique... Far too often, we salespeople dread rejection, and as a result we get really discouraged.Some prospects can be really mean. They might even curse at us, or just hang up the phone. Or, they politely end the conversation, but we know that they’re just trying to get rid of us. Most salespeople, unfortunately, take that rejection very seriously. But it’s not serious!Prospects don’t know you. They don’t know who you are. They don’t know your family. They don’t know anything about you.Sales is just a game. Easy Phone Sales Tip #4: Call really early and really late. This is one of the simplest easy phone sales tips I can give you, but it’s incredibly powerful. When do you think the majority of salespeople are making their dials during the course of the day? If you said something like between 10:00 and 11:30 or 1:00 and 3:00, then you're right. The majority of calls from salespeople are made at those times. At a lot of organizations, this is call time. Easy Phone Sales Tip #5: Avoid the “sales voice.” This is one of the most important easy phone sales tips I’m going to share with you in this article: Avoid the sales voice.Now, the sales voice is so pervasive in our industry that if I asked you, “Do you use an overly enthusiastic voice when you make calls?” you would probably say, “No, no, no. I sound normal.” Easy Phone Sales Tip #6: Pattern Interrupt. This is one of the most important easy phone sales tips you’ll ever learn. Sadly,  it’s something that the vast majority of salespeople never even think about.Let me ask you a question: What do the first 6 seconds of your typical sales calls sound like? Most salespeople can’t exactly answer that. If you’re like most salespeople, you take an off-the-cuff approach to opening your sales calls. While you may structure what happens later on in the call, you’re likely not really thinking about how to start the conversation.Prospects expect you to sound smooth, enthusiastic, and pushy. Instead, script out a call opening that’s unexpected—and then say it in a tone that’s slow, and almost a little bit hesitant. They’ll be thinking to themselves, “Is this a salesperson? Is it someone else? I don’t know.” Easy Phone Sales Tip #7: Have a contingency. Contingencies are one of my favorite tools in sales. But most salespeople, when I teach them about contingencies, get really uncomfortable. In reality, though, contingencies are one of the most powerful easy phone sales tips you can implement into your selling approach today.In sales, contingencies come into play when you’re calling prospects who are really busy, and they try to get you off the phone within the first couple seconds of the call. What’s your contingency plan if that happens? This is your plan B, when plan A falls through. Easy Phone Sales Tip #8: Get them talking. I want you to imagine what the typical prospect is experiencing on the receiving end of a typical sales call. The prospect answers the phone, and the salesperson says, “Hey, how are you doing?! You know, I want to tell you all about my company, ABC. We’ve got this incredible product!” And what are prospects doing while they’re listening to this? Easy Phone Sales Tip #9: Always close for the next step. This is one of those easy phone sales tips that’s backed up by tons of data. Gong.io, an intelligence conversion platform that uses AI to analyze sales conversations, compares conversations that really work against those that don’t.What they’ve found is that in the most effective sales conversations, salespeople spend significantly more time discussing next steps.
