For this just try to follow the steps which are given below---- Step 1: create a simple Group Above report to use formula in oracle report. Step 2: Go to the Paper Layout option to use formula in oracle report Step 3: Copy a number data type field from the paper layout to use formula in oracle report Step 4: and place your copied field in the right area as I have shown in the videos to use formula in oracle report Step 5: After this go to the Data Model option to use formula in oracle report Step 6: and click to the formula tool and sketch the right group area to use formula in oracle report. Step 7: after this it will create a formula column and will take a default unique name to use formula in oracle report. Step 8: double click on the name an it will transfer you to its property inspector to use formula in oracle report. Step 9: Just change the data type and write down the Function in the PL/SQL area to use formula in oracle report. Step 10: then close it to to use formula in oracle report. Step 11: go to the design option and select the field what you have copied and go to its property inspector. Step 12: Just replace the data source option to the formula name to use formula in oracle report. Step 13: then close it and compile it and then click to the Run report option. Step 14: Your desired value will return in that field by using formula. ..................................................Finish.................................................. About Oracle reports Builder: Oracle Reports Builder is a component of the Oracle Developer suit. It publish data from any source, in any format, to any destination with high fidelity. It is a powerful enterprise reporting tool that enables you to rapidly develop and deploy sophisticated Web and paper reports against any data source (including an Oracle database, JDBC, XML, text files, and Oracle OLAP). Oracle Reports Builders is a collection of programs that allows you to centralize report processing and better manage reporting efforts. Reports builder is one of the program components included with Oracle Reports Builder. Features include: -User-friendly wizards that guide you through the report design process. -Pluggable data sources (PDSs), such as JDBC and XML, that provide access to data from any source for your reports. -A query builder with a graphical representation of the SQL statement to obtain report data. -Default report templates and layout styles that can be customized if needed. - A live editor that enables you to modify paper report layouts in WYSIWYG mode. Benefits : Oracle Reports enables us to publish data from any source in any format with high fidelity. In addition to SQL, PL/SQL, and Express, you can publish data from Java Database Connectivity(JDBC) sources, XML, text files, or your own data sources that you have defined. Develop your report once, deploy it anywhere. -Output formats include HTML, HTMLCSS, XML, PDF, text, Postscript, RTF, delimited, character, etc. Oracle Reports uses a standards-base, modular architecture. Supported File Types: Oracle Reports can be saved in a variety of formats and then deployed with Oracle Application Server. JSP-JavaServer Page Format RDF-Report Definition File: Binary file containing source code. REP-Report: Binary file without source code. HTML-Hyper Text Markup Language. XML-Extensible Markup Language. Tabular Reports: A tabular report is the most basic type of report. Each column corresponds to a column selected from the database. Group Above Reports: A group above report contains multiple groups in its data model. It is a "master/detail" report, where there may be a lot of information in the master group. For every master group, the related values of the detail group(s) are fetched from the database and are displayed below the master information. Group Left Reports: A group left report also contains multiple groups in its data model, dividing the rows of a table based on a common value in one of the columns. Use this type of report to restrict a column from repeating the same value several times while values of related columns change. The data model for group above and group left reports is the same, but the layouts differ; group above reports display the master information at the top while group left reports display break columns to the side. Matrix Reports: A matrix (cross-product) report is a cross-tabulation of four groups of data: One group of data is displayed across the page. One group of data is displayed down the page. One group of data is the cross-product, which determines all possible locations where the across and down data relate and places a cell in those locations. One group of data is displayed as the "filler" of the cells. Parameters: A parameter is a variable whose value can be set at runtime. Parameters passed the values. Parameters enable you to develop dynamic report documents that produce report output depending on the parameter value that you enter at run time. Types of Parameter: 1.System parameters 2.User define parameters System parameters: Reports Builder automatically creates a set of system parameters at runtime. You cannot delete or rename a system parameter. Oracle Reports is shipped with the following system parameters. You can change their default values. COPIES Is the number of report copies that should be made when the report is printed. DESFORMAT Is either: the output format for the report (for example, PDF, HTML, HTMLCSS, RTF, XML, SPREADSHEET, DELIMITED, or DELIMITEDDATA for bitmapped reports). The printer definition to use when formatting the report when DESTYPE=FILE and DESNAME=filename. If MODE=BITMAP, this is the name of the printer. If MODE=CHARACTER, this is the character mode printer definition file (.prt file). DESNAME Is the name of the output device (for example, the file name, printer's name, mail user ID). DESTYPE Is the type of device that will receive the report output (for example, SCREEN (to format the report using screen fonts), FILE, PRINTER, MAIL, SYSOUT, CACHE, or LOCALFILE. MODE Is whether the report should run in CHARACTER mode or BITMAP. ORIENTATION Is the print direction for the report (LANDSCAPE, PORTRAIT, DEFAULT). PRINTJOB Is whether the Print Job dialog box should appear before the report is run. User define parameters : A user define parameter is a Data Model object that you create to hold a value that users can change at run time. The parameter default data type is CHARACTER. Types Of Triggers: We can code PL/SQL in a variety of triggers in a report to provide conditional or additional processing at run times. There are three Trigger types in Oracle Reports, such as: Report -Five Triggers Data Model -Parameter validation Layout -Format trigger Report Trigger: Report triggers enable you to execute PL/SQL functions at specific times during the execution and formatting of your report. The function must return a Boolean value (TRUE or FALSE). Using this triggers, You can do things such as -customize the formatting of your report -perform initialization tasks -and access the database. To create or modify a report trigger, you use the Report Triggers node in the Object Navigator. Types Of Report Trigger: Oracle Reports has five global report triggers. You cannot create new global report triggers, such as: Before Parameter Form trigger After Parameter Form trigger Before Report trigger Between Pages trigger After Report trigger Before Parameter Form trigger: -It is fire before opening the parameter form After Parameter Form trigger: -It is fire after closing the parameter form Before Report trigger: -It is fire before opening the report output Between Pages trigger: -It is fire for each and every page except first page. Placeholder column: A placeholder column is an empty container at design time. The placeholder can hold a value at run time that has been calculated and placed into it by PL/SQL code from another object. Using placeholder columns, you can: Populate multiple columns from one piece of code. You can calculate several values in one block of PL/SQL code in a formula column and assign each value to a different placeholder column. Thus, you create and maintain only one program unit instead of many. Store a temporary value for future reference. For example, store the current maximum salary as records are retrieved. Placeholder column: Questions: Maximum salary. Who is the maximum salary earner ? What is his/her department name? What is his/her department id? What is his/her city name? Report Styles There are several report styles in Oracle Reports Builder. Tabular reports Group above reports Group left reports Matrix reports Tabular Reports: A tabular report is the most basic type of report. Each column corresponds to a column selected from the database. Group Above Reports: A group above report contains multiple groups in its data model. It is a "master/detail" report, where there may be a lot of information in the master group. For every master group, the related values of the detail group(s) are fetched from the database and are displayed below the master information. Hi Friends, Here we are implementing Oracle Apex 5.1(36) Hide all type of reports when no data found In Oracle Apex By JavaInHand. I think so this video is helpful for you. Hide region if no data found I have a diagnostic page where I hide classic report regions that aren't relevant - ie, have no data returned. Here I create a dynamic action that executes After Refresh of the relevant region. The dynamic action then shows/hides the region, depending on the result of the JavaScript expression: $(this.triggeringElement).find('.nodatafound').length == 1 As Maxime pointed out in the comments, here I was focussing on classic report regions. The relevant classes you may be looking for include: Classic Report (versatile): nodatafound Interactive Report (IR): a-IRR-noDataMsg Interactive Grid (IG): a-GV-noDataMsg Don't forget Like, Share & Subscribe my channel Link (Blogger) : https://javainhand.blogspot.in/ Link (facebook Group ) https://www.facebook.com/groups/145218296146795/?ref=bookmarks Link (facebook Page) https://www.facebook.com/javainhand2017/ Thanks.
