Mixed Model Processes for Flexible Production of different products or services

02:57
'Mixed Model' simply refers to producing more than one type of product (model ) on a production line, but this same methodology applies to any process which need to be flexible enough to handle different types of request and deliver different outputs. It applies just as well to Service industries where the same team of people need to deal with different types of customer orders or requests for service every day.
Steve Jobs' amazing marketing strategy - MUST WATCH

07:08
Steve Jobs shares his amazingly different approach to marketing and how he used it to build Apple into one of the largest companies in the world. * Join my BELIEVE newsletter: http://www.evancarmichael.com/newsletter/ Transcript: To me….marketing is about values. This is a very complicated world. It’s a very noisy world. And we’re not going to get a chance to get people to remember much about us. No company is! And so, we have to be really clear on what we want them to know about us. Now Apple, fortunately, is one of half-a-dozen best brands in the whole world. Right up there with Nike, Disney, Coke, Sony — it is one of the greats of the greats. Not just in this country, but all around the globe. But even a great brand needs investment and caring if it’s going to retain its relevance and vitality. And the Apple brand has clearly suffered from neglect in this area in the last few years. And we need to bring it back! The way to do that is NOT to talk about speeds and fees. It’s NOT to talk about bits and mega-hertz. It’s NOT to talk about why we are better than Windows. The dairy industry tried for 20 years to convince you that milk was good for you. It’s a lie, but they tried anyway. And the sales were falling. And then they tried “Got milk” and the sales went up. “Got milk” wasn’t even talking about the product. In fact, it focuses on the absence of the product. But the best example of all, and one of the greatest jobs of marketing that the universe has ever seen, is Nike. Remember, Nike sells a commodity. They sell shoes!!! And yet, when you think of Nike you feel something different than a shoe company. In their ads, as you know, they don’t ever talk about the product. They don’t ever tell you about their air soles and why they are better than Reebok’s air soles. What does Nike do in their advertising? They honor great athletes. And they honor great athletics. That’s who they are, that’s what they are about! Apple spends a fortune on advertising — you’d never know it….you’d never know it! So…when I got here, Apple just fired their agency and there was a competition with 23 agencies that…you know…four years from now we would pick one. And we blew that up and we hired Chiat\Day, the ad agency that I was fortunate enough to work with years ago and created some award winning work including the commercial voted the best ad ever made, 1984 (by Advertising Professionals). And…we started working about eight weeks ago, and the question we asked was, “Our customers want to know who is Apple and what is it that we stand for…where do we fit in this world?” And what we’re about isn’t making boxes for people to get their jobs done — although we do that well. We do that better than almost anybody, in some cases. But Apple is about something more than that! Apple at the core…its core value — is that, we believe that people with passion can change the world for the better. That’s what we believe! And we have had the opportunity to work with people like that. We’ve had the opportunity to work with people like you; with software developers, with customers, who have done it. In some big, and some small ways. And we believe that, in this world, people can change it for the better. And that those people who are crazy enough to think that they can change the world are the ones that actually do! And so, what we’re going to do in our first brand marketing campaign in several years, is to get back to that core value! A lot of things have changed. The market is in a total different place than where it was a decade ago. And Apple is totally different — and Apple’s place in it is totally different. And believe me, the products, and the distribution strategy, and the manufacturing are totally different…and we understand that. But values and core values — those things shouldn’t change. The things that Apple believed in at its core, are the same things Apple really stands for today. Private Sector vs. Public Sector

02:11
If you were mailing an extremely important package, you'd probably trust FedEx more than the U.S. Postal Service. But why? Is it because FedEx is a private company, while the post office is run by the government? What are the differences between the "private sector" and the government sector? Why does it matter? Politicians in the media often talk about the private and public sectors of our economy but what's the difference? And which one is more effective? The private sector is made up of businesses or corporations owned by people. The private sector includes malls, grocery stores, and your local diner. To make a profit in the private sector, businesses must earn our money by offering us products and services that we want or need. When businesses have to compete for the same dollars, prices go down because no one wants to pay twice as much for shoes at one store if you can get the same pair cheaper at another place. On the other hand, the public sector is not supported by profits. It doesn't have to compete for our dollars. Instead, the public sector uses our tax dollars to fund its services. So we pay for these programs no matter how much or how little we use them. The government decides how our tax dollars should be spent in the public sector. This makes sense for some things. For example, you probably wouldn't want firefighters or police officers competing with one another for your business. In other cases though, this means things cost more or service is worse. The U.S. Post Office has $100 billion in debt and is regularly bailed out with taxpayer money. And the Department of Motor Vehicles isn't usually known for fast, friendly service. In contrast, private companies know that if they offer poor customer service and don't make money, they'll go out of business. When comparing the private sector with the public sector, it's clear that the market-driven private sector is more efficient. When you don't have to be profitable or accountable, things tend to be more expensive and the service is worse. So when there's a choice between a private sector or a government service, think about that package you really need delivered.

How Should You Price Your MLM Products or Services

05:27
Read More on the MyMLM Blog: https://www.mymlm.com/pricing-your-products-services/ How Should I Price Products and Services? How should I price my MLM Products? What markups or margins should be in a product in MLM or Network Marketing? How Do You Determine the Pricing for Your Products or Services? What you need to keep in mind is that your products are usually just like the ones being sold in traditional retail environments. What many people don’t realize though is that in a typical retail product, 60-70% of the retail cost goes to advertising. In network marketing, that 60-70% is going to commissions. The advantage is that you’re only paying for performance while in retail you’re putting that money out in advertising and hoping that it will generate a sale. In network marketing, you typically want to have a 6-8x markup over your cost of goods. So if you have a product that costs you $10, your retail should be $60-$80. Keep in mind that’s a retail price, not the price you’re going to sell to distributors or preferred customers. Preferred customers; customer’s that may have signed up for a monthly autoship, or some other form of subscription membership, typically you’ll want to provide a 10% discount. Based on our prior example, that would be a sales price of $54. For Distributors, they're going to want to see a discount on your retail pricing of about 20-25% so your distributor pricing for the example product would be $45. That’s $35 left for the company and you’re going to need to pay a portion in commissions to the distributors that sold these products. Typically you want to pay about 40% of the retail sales price in commission. 40% of our retail price is $24, and if we take that out of the $35, that leaves $11 left for the company. You can adjust that commission between 30-40% going to your commissions, but you’re going to want a 1:1.5 times your cost of goods in profit for the company. But really it depends on the product. Some markets are drastically higher, for example, skin care products can see as much as 10-15x markup and ingestibles and shakes, 8x-10x. If you got some value out of this video, or you think I might be able to help you price your MLM products, I invite you to contact me.

Is Dentistry a Product or Service

08:04
Is dentistry a product or service? The answer to this question is important because it will influence how we decide to market the industry of dentistry. If we are clear about whether dentistry is a product or service and whether dentistry fits into the retail sector or not, we can make rational decisions about the type of marketing strategy we use. This video explains the definition of a product and service and looks at the implications of this definition on how we decide to formulate a marketing plan for a dental practice. This is of course my own opinion and I'm more than happy to openly discuss alternate viewpoints via the comments section on this video, indeed in person or by e-mail. How to see if your product or service idea has a future

03:56
When validating your idea for a new product or service.. you can create an ad before spending large amounts of money before you even have the idea finished. Learn how with with episode from Mike Grabham. Visit michaelgrabham.com to learn more. Here is the transcript Hello, Mike Grabham here again today, today I’m going to talk to you about a couple secrets that will literally save you thousands of dollars, and hundreds of hours of time, before you create your new product or service. And I’ve been creating products and services for over 20 years, I’ve made some good ones, and I’ve made some not so good ones, but I’m here to help you, I’m here to save you time, save you money, and just reduce the sheer aggravation of creating a great product or service, so please, if you have any comments or questions, leave em below, and I’ll be sure to answer all of them, thanks a lot. We created the product as if it already existed, let’s say it’s a hard product, where it’s a physical product, so you need to create some 3D rendersing of that product, so to do the 3D renderings, you can use an industrial designer, or product designer, or you can even go to like freecad.org and use their product for creating your own 3D renderings, but you need some 3D renderings if it’s a hard product, so people can understand what it looks like and how it acts, now if it’s a software product, or, web based product, and it’s a little easier cause you can just do screenshots of what it would look like, or how it acts. You know, what you can also do for any of those types of things, you can do a simple video, which would show how you’re solving the problem, and you can just do a voiceover and just narrate it yourself, so that’s a great way to do it as well, but anyway, the important thing is, is creating a way to show customers how your product or service is solving a problem, that is the key. Now let’s just assume you have all the imagery you need to show someone your product or service, well, the next thing you do, is you need to create an ad on Facebook, a simple ad, talk about two features, three at the very most, talk about the benefits to the customer, how do those benefits of your product or service benefit your customer, create that ad, pick a geographic region, don’t pick like all of the world, pick like the US or maybe even just smaller segments like Chicago, or Miami, or Dallas. But create a smaller geographical region, and then just push the ad out, it’s really simple, go to YouTube and look at how do I create a Facebook ad, there’s hundreds of videos to show you how to do that, it’s really simple. Do that, right because what you’re looking for, is you’re looking for feedback, because once they click on the ad, you’re gonna send them to a landing page, which you can create using like, Unbounce.com, or Instapage.com, and on that landing page you give them much more detail about the product, you can show the videos, you can show lots of imagery about that. What you’re trying to get is, will anyone click on my ad, will anyone share my ad, will anyone comment on my ad, because if none of those three things are happening, it’s a bad product, it’s just that simple, so start over, tweak it, do something, change it, cause no one cares about your product, and that’s what we’re tying to get to as quickly as we can with the least amount of money. Please, do not spend hundreds of thousands of dollars, or thousands of dollars on developing this product before you’ve gotten at least taken the ad, and you know who else does this, Amazon does this, but they do it a different way, they actually create a press release, before the product or service is ever created, they do a press release internally, and talk about that. I’m saying go a step further, create an ad and see if people actually, flippin” click on that ad, if they will, then you have a product that matters, if no one clicks on it, you have no product, or service, no one cares about the way you’re solving it, so, that’s my thing today. Please, share this with your friends, share it on Twitter, share it on Facebook, share it on Instagram, share it on LinkedIn, and of course, subscribe to my YouTube channel, thanks a lot, and have an amazing day.
Back2Basics, chapter 1:the product or service

07:44
It's time to start my new series "#Back2Basics!" We are going to go back to the very basics of Internet Marketing. What I teach your here can be applied to any (real) company, even though I'll be using #NowLifeStyle occasionally as an example since this is the company I work with on a daily basis, and therefore the one I know best. . Today for this first part, we are going to talk about the very foundation of your business, without which there can be no business actually: the product or service distributed by the company. Because trying to build a business without a product or service that people genuinely need and want would be like building your house on the sand: sooner or later, it's going to crumble and fall apart. When this happens, all your efforts of the previous months or even years burn up in flames, and your reputation goes down the drain... . To avoid this catastrophic end-of-the-world type of scenario, ask yourself this: if it were not for the opportunity, would I use the product or service? If the answer is NO, do not work with this company! If the answer is YES, order the product or service and actually USE it. This is the only way you can recommend that product or service to your future customers. To me it is a matter of integrity, how could you possibly recommend a product you have never used? . Enjoy, and please let me know in the comments if you think you've learned something today :) PS: sorry about the more than average sound, I know I need to work on this :)

One of the best exercises for you to do is make a list of companies or businesses that you go back to over and over and over again, and ask yourself why. On the left, list five companies you return to again and again, and on the right write the reason for doing so. For instance, on the left write, "I go to this restaurant at least once a week" and on the right write, "I go there because _____________." The thing that goes into the blank is generally one of these six reasons. How To Charge More Money For Your Service Or Product

08:15
How to charge more money for your service or product, escape the freelancer "hamster wheel" and build an awesome business “Want to connect on Facebook? Add me on Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/aleksander.vitkin Your clients are probably giving you way more money that they give you credit for. A lot of freelancer would agree on that. That is why today you are going to find out how to charge more money for your service. You are not going to solve it by working harder. No matter how hard you work, you are going to get the same amount of money. For this specific situation, this is not the solution. Usually freelancers are earning $2K to $3K per month and are traveling to third – world countries. If you want to escape from that lifestyle, you need to change your mindset completely. If you continue to do what you are already doing, you will get the same results. There are people much less capable than you who are not working that hard and are making much more money than you. The main things that you differentiate from those guys are: 1) They know how to find clients and get them on a phone. That is called a funnel. 2) They know how to present their service. The first thing you need to do is you need to find the right type of client to increase your prices. For example, many doctors are not looking to get new clients because they are not looking to grow their business. Their mind is completely different. On the other hand, the people in the eCommerce space are always looking for ways to get more sales, get new clients and get more revenue. These are things that can improve and grow their business. What you get paid by the client is the value that they see and not the value that you bring. You need to find a way to measure your success delivery to the client. It does not matter what business you are in, because any businesses needs this. If you know how much your competitors are charging for the same work that you do, you would never take an underpaying client ever again. Being in a mastermind can open your eyes and push you to charge more money. You will be able to see how other people who offer the same service can charge 5 times more money than you charge. These people can show you the right way to find the right type of clients and to charge more money for your service. These communities of people can help you achieve business goals like increasing prices. You owe it to yourself and to your clients to charge a fair amount of money. Once you get enough experience, you can start requesting bonuses from clients. That way you will be able to provide higher quality work and your client will be happier as well, because he will get better results as well. Moreover, your client will take you more seriously. When your clients pay you a little bit more money than they are used to, they see it as more valuable. The 2 most important things you need to do are to: • Increase the value that you provide. • Increase the amount of money that you charge. That is how you can go from a freelancer to running a real business.

The value proposition provides value through various elements such as newness, performance, customization, "getting the job done", design, brand/status, price, cost reduction, risk reduction, accessibility, and convenience/usability. The value propositions may be: Quantitative – price and efficiency Qualitative – overall customer experience and outcome The right hand side of the Business Model Canvas describes the customers, the channels through which you deliver services and and the relationships you have with your customers. Customer Segments: To build an effective business model, a company must identify which customers it tries to serve. Various sets of customers can be segmented based on the different needs and attributes to ensure appropriate implementation of corporate strategy meets the characteristics of selected group of clients. Channels: A company can deliver its value proposition to its targeted customers through different channels. Effective channels will distribute a company’s value proposition in ways that are fast, efficient and cost effective. An organization can reach its clients either through its own channels (store front), partner channels (major distributors), or a combination of both. Customer Relationships: To ensure the survival and success of any businesses, companies must identify the type of relationship they want to create with their customer segments. The bottom section of the canvas describes the finances. Cost Structure: This describes the most important monetary consequences while operating under different business models. A company's DOC. Revenue Streams: The way a company makes income from each customer segment. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCIypuA7lS-FsVG6cMlNCK2w?sub_confirmation=1 Check out some of our other videos Compensation claims - how long should it take https://youtu.be/NuxfrgSTg78 LLC vs S Corp https://youtu.be/4xNCnf9hitw Minizing tax https://youtu.be/ybSnFb6rx6Y How to fund a startup https://youtu.be/ctzDb59sw5M Kickstarter success Ep 1 https://youtu.be/2EG78JNZ7nA Kickstarter success Ep 2 https://youtu.be/ZMlq5CmUNz8 How to pitch to investors with Guy Kawasaki https://youtu.be/-epR-uGlv4M If you are interested in sustainability issues then check this video out The Sustainable Business Model Canvas https://youtu.be/gVimMEI2u2w

5 Mistakes New Importers Make When Importing Products from China

13:39
Discover the 5 mistakes new importers make when they are importing products from China. Don’t make the same mistakes! Get our free ebook: http://wholesaleted.com/4-step Freightos: http://wholesaleted.com/go/freightos First mistake importers make when importing products from China: Assuming that shipping by sea will be the cheapest option A lot of new importers think they will save money if they ship by sea rather than air. On the surface it seems cheaper as importers usually pay around 60 cents/KG when shipping via sea, compared to the $7/KG when shipping by air courier. Unfortunately what they don’t realize is that the reason it’s that cheap is because when shipping via sea, you ship via container, and you need to rent an entire container. They are very large and require you to be shipping hundreds of KGs to be making it worth your time. If you are an Amazon private label seller, you are unlikely to have enough stock being shipped to fill a container by at least 60-70% so it will be cheaper to ship by air. When shipping by air, you have two options: 1) Air freight 2) Air courier Air courier is when you have your items shipped door-to-door. It is the easiest but the most expensive per KG (although in smaller quantities it is cheaper). Air freight is when you have your items flown from one airport to the other. You will need to organize other additional services: * Having the items delivered to the airport * A customs broker * Having the items delivered from the airport to the final location. There are a lot of fixed fees with this which means it becomes cheaper to use air freight with larger quantities. To figure out which option will be cheaper for you, I recommend using Freightos. Second mistake importers make when importing products from China: Not using the Metric system In China, they use the Metric system and not the Imperial system. So be sure to use KGs instead of lbs and CM instead of inches. It’s important to remember that when working with Chinese suppliers that they expect you to work on their terms and their timeframes. It can be frustrating, but it’s worth it for the cheap Chinese products you import! Third mistake importers make when importing products from China: Using Less than Container Load for shipping When shipping by sea, you have two options: 1) FCL which stands for Full Container Load 2) LCL which stands for Less than Container Load Inexperienced importers fall for the trap of shipping with LCL because they see that the price are extremely cheap. What they don’t realize is that these LCL companies have special deals with the ports to charge you extremely high Destination Service Charges. The LCL companies then make their money in the form of a “rebate” which is essentially commissions/kickbacks. Destination Service Charges are usually priced per-container and cost between $500-$1000 per container for ports in the USA. But when shipping by LCL you end up paying a high fee per cubic meters. It means that you often end up paying a fee comparable to shipping an entire container. Don’t fall for this trap: If you can’t break even with FCL, then ship by air. Fourth mistake importers make when importing products from China: not calculating the correct duties you will need to pay When you import products from China, you will need to pay duties at the border. If you don’t calculate the correct rate you can get a shock if it comes back as more than you expected. Duties can be a bit complicated to work out because there are a lot of variables. For example, if you imported woolen jackets, you need to consider which country the wool came from, as some countries (like Israel) have duty-free agreements over wool, which would reduce the duties you had to pay. On the other hand if synthetic fibres were used instead of pure wool, then your duty rates would be higher since there are higher duties applied to synthetic fibres within the USA. To figure out what your duty rate is, find out what the HTS (Harmonized Tax System) code is for your item. To find this, ask your Chinese supplier as they will most likely know. You can then go through the HTS manual and find what the duty rate is for the HTS code of your products. Fifth mistake importers make when importing products from China: being afraid to make mistakes And finally - don’t be afraid to make mistakes. Through making mistakes you learn how to overcome them the next time and make even more money. Mistakes are apart of entrepreneurship. Learn from others - and learn from your own as well!

I also explain how to sell a food product online and in stores, and the different strategies between selling food offline and how to sell food online. Many people create new kinds of foods all the time. The challenge that people face is that selling the food item is difficult. There are a few things you can do to sell a large quantity of your food product. The first thing you can do to sell your food item is to try to sell it in local stores. You can sell your food product in local supermarkets. Supermarkets do accept new kinds of foods. The challenge is that they will likely pay you very little, and impose many requirements like great labels and food packaging which are expensive. The other approach to sell your food item is to sell that food online. You can sell food from your own website, or from sites like http://www.amazon.com You can sell food online, but the challenge is shipping. If you create food that ships easily, that is great. But if shipping will be complex, it may drive up your costs which would deter some buyers. So there should be a solid strategy for how to sell your food online. You can also attempt to sell a food item wholesale. If you need extra help to write a business plan for your food item or to get marketing help to sell a food item, you can hire me as a business coach. Here is a page explaining how I can help you write a business plan for a food item, and sell your new food. http://glowingstart.com/hire-business-coach-mentor-advisor/ Additionally, you can easily sell your own food item from your site. Here is how to set up a basic site and begin selling from it: http://www.problemio.com/website.html The other way to sell your food item is to try to sell it wholesale to restaurants. That is also difficult. But as you may guess, all these techniques and strategies are not too simple.
