Are you under exposing a lot of these photos, because shooting at such a high shutter speed in daylight especially in a tunnel and the side of a building there should be no way you'd be able to achieve these photos without either boosting your iso significantly or recovering the shadows in post I ask because I've noticed a lot of noise in your images and these are the only explanations for the noise I can come up with. Don't get me wrong I think the shots are great and you've got a lovely model, I'm just confused with your settings that's all.
Daniel De Kind (1 year ago)
Hi! Yes mostly I underexpose. But not a lot tho. And I also add some grain in post processing :)

About how many photos should one have by the end of a photo shoot like this? I"ll be doing my first photo shoot soon & want to make sure I have enough variety throughout my photos of the model.

Model Tip #1: you DON'T break everything. Unless you are shooting for soft porn, you don't do booty shots and stick the ass and chest out. Photographer Tip #1: DIRECT your posers to being models. Direct your models positions. Teach them to be MODELS. Lead by example and Model them based on what they are pushing for. Model does not mean "Pretty woman, mouth stuck open, head tilted back in sensual poses". The woman can be pretty all she wants but agencies seek what these models know and on an "as-if" basis, sees if they are selling, not doing a bunch of instagram posing. Model Tip #2: Try other poses than sticking your leg out or poking your knee and hands in the hair. Sitting on the barracade like shes waiting on the bus bored to death. Every location you shot at, same poses same execution. Is she a model or a poser? Model Tip #3: You want the neck, not the muscles and tendons. Teach your posers/models to swing and keep the muscles calm. Model Tip #4: Learn more awkward positions especially for high fashion or even beauty. Photographer Tip #2: Don't call them models when they are not selling anything. I saw nothing being sold but herself. By now her portfolio is built. Are you pushing her to agencies or instagram/facebook? Photographer Tip #3: Use other apertures other than F1.8. Are you a picture taker or photographer? Photographers use more than the tight wide open shots. I like what you are doing and good shots but it's reached a point to where you are just playing around and saying you are going to show someone something and creating false perception.
Ella (1 year ago)
Yeah... It's really depends on photographer that aperture thing. When you shoot in the nature and your aperture is example f/4.0 in studio it might work, but in the nature it looks mess because of that background. But yeah that model thing is true, if you are photographer you should teach her even when she is your friend. I'm always saying to my friend what to do and I show how to pose with my own body. Do not give photographer instructions when you don't know what that photographer wants. but yeah Daniel have potential to be portrait photographer !
Daniel De Kind (2 years ago)
+Tony's Imagery Hi Tony I appreciate the feedback and tips you gave. I just want to add that these models are my friends and are no professional models at all. They just like to model and pose for Instagram photos. So no intentions of shooting for agencies and what not. Furthermore, this is the posimg style that I like in my shots. Simple, feminine and sexy. If you don't like it that way, that's okay for me. Also, I like the f1.8 aperture, it works best for me and for the pictures I want to achieve. Thanks for your comment. Daniel

That first outfit was really awesome!! :) How do you make that effect when you show the pictures in the video?
Marimba Maurice (2 years ago)
Oh... I should've come up with this ^^
Daniel De Kind (2 years ago)
Oh it is so simple hahaha in Sony Vegas Pro I just duplicate the layer and photo and zoom on the lower background track and gaussian blur!
Marimba Maurice (2 years ago)
The effect that I mean is that the photos you were showing are also displayed blurred in the background. How did you do that? I never found out how to do it.
Daniel De Kind (2 years ago)
+Marimba Maurice thanks man!! And what do you mean with "that effect"? :)
