I bought that kit yesterday :D
I wonder how effective it would be for Tamiya to make the "sprew" available as a 3D print for projects they have discontinued. I went onto the Tamiya website, and found a few great projects that are all discontinued, I wondered how they would turn out if the project files were available as a paid 3D print?

thank you for posting this ,brother. Russians knew how much pounding these tanks could take from panzers so they buried the ones they received thru lend-lease. woo-lah! instant pillbox! m-3 stuarts were cannon fodder on most fronts during WW2.

So happy this one is out now!

What did you use for the aerial?
Mr jeff (5 months ago)
Do u need to wait for the paint to dry before adding anotherlayer of paint?

This is the first I've heard of Tamiya Markfit strong, but it sure beats shooting a flat then a gloss and then another flat. Thanks for the tip--a real time saver. Looks great!

That’s pretty nice Andy! I really like your videos, I’ve learned quite a bit watching you build military stuff! I’ve never built any military vehicles, well except for one P-40 Flying Tiger when I was a kid and I think it was 1/48th scale , not for sure on that since it’s been a long time ago!?! But, you put me in the frame of mind to start building military vehicles, cannot believe I never built any! I guess it’s never too late to start, right? Better late than never! My skills would probably be a lot better than they are now if I’d had been doing those all along! Thank you for inspiring me! 👍👍 Well, Kenny May got me inspired to start building models again, originally, but watching you got me inspired to start building the military vehicles and planes, etc., etc.!

I'm hoping for a new M24 Chaffe next from Tamiya.

Very nice ! Tamiya kits all are expensive paid $80 buck for my sons tiger 1
David m (7 months ago)
The music is perfect!
clayton Lowrance (7 months ago)
The reason this kit contains windshields is because on the real steel stuart the armor below the turret raises similar to a half track and reveals the windshields
Stuart Ancell (7 months ago)
Hi just received the new Academy panther D doesn't like a bad kit for the money
Stuart Ancell (7 months ago)
Hi Andy just started modelling again after recovering from illness and watching your videos keep them coming

Can you recommend where to purchase 0.3mm drill bits? Need about half dozen or so,they are very thin and snap easily. Thanks
Max Clickenhof (7 months ago)
Andy, Where did the two large clear parts go ??
Howard Fortyfive (7 months ago)
Quite often the background or accompanying music can make or break a video. At 6:10 and beyond I am grateful for such lovely sounds. All of which are old favorites from grade school field trips. While watching this video I took a gander at my remaining Tamiya 1/35th Stuart I built Christmas 1979. It too is an early riveted model. *Question: did you make radio antenna by heating up sprue and stretching same? That's how I made mine.* Thanks 4 the memories.

Do you put another coat of flat on after decals or just leave it?
Another coat of flat
Gary Davis (7 months ago)
Very nice result. Looks like a major improvement over their 1st offering. Thanks Andy
ualuuanie (7 months ago)
Correct me if I am wrong but I fell the Academy kit has more detail, options and cheaper.
Gaustadt Panzer (7 months ago)
Anyone else seeing the trend that Tamiya is doing recently? They seem to be going back remaking their older stuff and then charging almost twice the amount for it. Don't get me wrong I love Tamiya kits but asking $40 + for such a small kit seems to be highway robbery. One can find the original kit for $15 if they really know where to look. They just recently put out the Wespa German artillery vehicle and want more for it yet is practically the same kit as the old one except for minor changes and new figures. What's next? A remake of their old Panther and Pz II kits but $40 + as well? There were a ton a military vehicles in World War II why not go with something new?
kris Morris (7 months ago)
What did you use for the antenna?
Stretched sprue
john volker (7 months ago)
Another winner of a video. I enjoy your builder's hints and tips as well as when you point out any problem areas. Looks to be a great kit and I must add it to my collection.
John Burdis (7 months ago)
The Australian army used Stuarts in the PTO during WW2, I think there should be decals available for an Australian version. Thanks Andy for the tutorial and kit review. A lot of surplus Stuarts and Matilda 2 were sold to farmers after the war.
Demonic Gaming (7 months ago)
I so wish u would make them and like make it for people to buy etc like there is noo way I'm able to build that your amazing at it!. Well u could probably buy but not deliver to the uk rip.
Bunny Duck (7 months ago)
Andy,I have the same airbrush as you.....I use the same air pressure for general painting....22psi.....I always get a very small sharp line.......How do you get the broader pattern for painting a large surface....I see you are holding the airbrush about the same distance as I do.......Please advise.
You should just be able to pull the airbrush trigger farther back And get the wider spray pattern
Elijah Brasher (7 months ago)
Andy Great video as usual. From your Australian friend

oh boy I met this tank in Indonesia near my city 2 of em..
Wayne Coulter (7 months ago)
Price point is a bit disappointing... for that price you'd hope there was an interior... at least the large parts that would be visible through the open driver and machine gunner's hatches... maybe even more crew members...
kalbs89 (7 months ago)
Nice kit, I would love to see an aftermarket interior for it.
Kevin Barwiler (7 months ago)
Andy a couple questions for you buddy. What sanding stick did you use on the Stuart Build? That is a Thick finger nail sander! Where can I get the Andy Hobby Tee shirt at? Is there a Verlinden upgrade set for this?
Scott Erdo (7 months ago)
What do you use for the antenna?
Pet Ko (7 months ago)
Hi Andy. I noticed you don't use primer. Is the Nato Black acting as your primer instead? Thanks!
GunsTanks&Planes (7 months ago)
Excellent build Andy! Looking forward to this kit.
Tim Dunn (7 months ago)
It certainly goes together easier than the ones I built in the 80's. Since I'm just now getting back into Historic Armor models again, I thoroughly enjoyed watching this. Subscribed!
Dazz Jones (7 months ago)
Were the two pieces on the front with the plugs in them on properly? One was closer to the outside of the hull, one was closer to the hatch....

Whats happened to the Takom Panther a Andy?
Steve Kiernan (7 months ago)
Great video, thank you for posting
Infidel Gastro (7 months ago)
I really love the classical music interlude... and the kit is pretty sweet too, although the M3 Stuart wasn't exactly remembered as being one of the better tanks during the WW2 conflict. A lot of their crews swore by them though, then swore at them when they kept on breaking down. Fitting a petrol (gasoline) engine to a fighting tank wasn't exactly a stroke of genius by it's designers either.
Steve Perl (7 months ago)
Great video! I'm up for a new Stuart! I don't know if you remember me? I used to come into your shop in El Cajon, CA. I 'm still building. I'm more focused on armor than ever before. Good to see your doing well.

Nice one Andy

Another nice kit build Andy. Did you have to fabricate the antenna or was it part of the kit?

Point Alpha Models Did they have the same box? If so, then that's what it was.
Point Alpha Models (7 months ago)
Thekais Tzar it could be the old version maybe?
AlaskaRailroadguy (7 months ago)
I really wished Tamiya molded ALL the kits in this gray plastic, I do t really care for the colored plastic, it looks like a great little kit, I got the old version can’t wait to look at them side by side
Donald Parlett jr (7 months ago)
Question , on the clear sprue what were the large rectangular pieces? Tamiya does it again.
Sourdo1 (7 months ago)
Whatever happened to the Takom Panther A with Full Interior? We only saw Part 1.
Mike Morton (7 months ago)
Lovely model - what a shame the retail version will be moulded in OD styrene - grey is so much easier to work with!
rottingflesh7 (7 months ago)
Very nice model and perfect work ! 👍
richard timms (7 months ago)
did you ever find out where the two flat clear panels were meant to go?
Petri Manninen (7 months ago)

So what was those large pieces on the clear sprue for?
Seth Solomon (7 months ago)
Great job andy!!!!
fracture 42 (7 months ago)
Why not use a black primer instead of Nato black? If nothing else it would be cheaper.
TheGreywulff (7 months ago)
Very enjoyable video Andy. But, I have to ask, you laid down your decals on a flat coat. I didn't see any signs of silvering. Did you seal the decals afterwards with a flat coat ? Keep up the great work !!
Tiger 131 (7 months ago)
Looks great Andy. It looks like you may have forgot to paint the taillights. Don’t forget those!😃 Cannot wait to see the weathering video. Thanks!

40 plus dollers seems a bit excessive nice kit though
Type Here (7 months ago)
I'm not a fan of the price, either. There are much better kits out there being sold for that much. Like, much, much better.

as always nice video ...

I can't listen to The Blue Danube anymore without thinking of the Pan Am space liner coming into dock at the giant cartwheel space station in 2001, but very nice. To be honest I quite like the colour of the styrene they've used here, wouldn't be such a bad thing to leave it that colour. By the way, did you work out what the 2 transparent panels were for? A guess would be they go under those two armour plates on the front of the tank.
big daddy cone (7 months ago)
Kit looks nice, shame about those smaller grab handles on the hull. They look pretty soft and will probably need replacing with wire etc. for a realistic look.
Craig Harvey (7 months ago)
Looks fantastic👍

Andy whats up with the Takom Panther A? It's been a month when first part came out...

Andy, what is "tutu crazy"?
Steven Brown (7 months ago)
Thanks for that ... looking forward to it coming out. Must be a great feeling of recognition for your work and success when manufacturers choose you to receive pre production kit to get the word out. Well done Andy.

I find it a little odd that Tamiya do not give you parts to do British Stuart
