If you're watching this and are on the fence about taking the courses mentioned in the video, do it. It's a drop in the bucket financially and will earn you some peace of mind. Think of it as hiring a personal trainer. You can go to the gym 5 days a week but a true athlete seeks out the advice of trainers and experts to improve. Every 2 - 5% advantage MATTERS.

LOL. I lit my books on fire when I graduated. I guess we'll agree to disagree.

LegalEagle Just to clarify, I meant getting a new tablet each month due to tossing it out the window in frustration haha. A book can take the beating! :)
LegalEagle (1 year ago)
Thanks, Zach. That's exactly how we feel too. Law school feels like a game where no one gives you the rules. It is always going to require hard work and practice, but good guidance is essential -- just like a good personal trainer. (Lebron James, Tiger Woods, Michael Phelps -- all have personal trainers to provide objective criticism, strategies, and motivation). We do the same thing. That's why we combined the best of Getting to Maybe, LEEWs, and Law School Confidential, and many others to provide the guidance and strategies that law schools and professors will never provide. For new law students, you can learn more at https://www.legaleagleprep.com/masterclass

Hey, so I'm working on an associate's degree to transfer in History because, well, I like history a ton and apparently that's a degree you can have to go into law school? Anyways, my primary plan is so be a teacher, but I've taken some courses on law and I've enjoyed them IMMENSELY, especially since it's so applicable to real life I'm hoping to make it into SDSU to be a teacher, but if I were to ever change my mind or even possibly pursue both for whatever reason, what would you recommend?

Can someone explain me what I have to do after high school? I have to go to college or university? Where I have to take my major and my minor?
Louise Jessie (21 hours ago)
Hi Belen, if you're in the US, you typically need a Bachelors degree to get into law school. You can major in whatever you'd like, obviously a pre-law focused major is probably the most helpful, but any degree fulfills that requirement. Then you have to take the LSAT-- if you're in a good pre-law program for your undergrad, they'll likely have some help for you to prepare for this, but there are great free courses as well like Kahn Academy. Good luck!

How about reviewing “The Paper Chase” which centers on a law school student figuring out how his professor thinks! That’s what I liked about it, anyway. I can really recall doing that, figuring out how they thought...and when you know how they think, well, you’re definitely putting yourself in an excellent position. Even more exciting when you like it! #Mastery

for typing, I learned when I was a kid using a game called MasterType - wizards and planets, but it taught well, and I've been a fast and correct typist since my teens because of it. You can find it online I believe if you want to try it.

Being a lawyer usually pays for law school. Student loans get you to that point.

LegalEagle can you please make a video for advice on how to get into berkeley law?
KTWNK1D (3 months ago)
Law school was definitely an interesting time in my life. I regretfully have to admit that it was sad, but 2 students during my 1L year committed suicide. Law school is not for everyone. Really take to heart your mental health and gauge yourself. If you are in law school, pay attention to yourself and definitely seek help if you are starting to get weary.

TF did I just hear him say “exams are graded on a curve and the professor can only give out something like 5 A’s”!!???! Like hell, if I earn an A you’re giving me an A!

Mister Mister the way you talk is rad

Luckily they don’t employ such communist system where I plant to go to law school!
sarowie (3 months ago)
no, it does not work that way. If you study at a mid-tear law school and you happen to study with some very students with that your, you have bad luck and have to deal with it. But law schools in the US are not the only schools that do this short of things. Engineers students at ETH in Zurich Switzerland get told the very first day by the professor how many students will pass on to the next year. The grades are tailored to only let trough a certain number of students - which is a sad fact when you are in a competitive year. On the other hand: It gives a lot of students at least a chance to get to year two. The alternative would be to only let the students with the best marks in to the school (like it is done for medicine in Germany and Switzerland), which has the problem that when you have a bad day on your final high school exam, your career in medicine just ended.

I'm near graduation in my undergrad and have been debating law school since I was really young (I'll admit to the Elle Woods draw in, but trust me when I say I believe I could really be successful in this career and so does anyone else I tell about it and several of my undergraduate professors, including one who is a lawyer). I just found your YouTube channel starting with some of the reaction videos to popular movies, and I am...completely psyched and grateful for your content. I'm still some years away because I haven't even begun researching law schools or preparing for the LSATs yet, but thank you for all the information that will be so, so incredibly helpful in my decisions and possible studies and reaching this goal.

Tips for the typing part Buy a mechanical keyboard that you can use in class but learn on what sound each switch color does because some mechanical switches for keyboards aare really noisy like the blue ones but if you use non noisy ones like the blacks it can help you type faster really effeciently.

Hahahahaha yep.

To be a lawyer do u have to take both the SAT and LSAT or just one? Love your videos! Keep doing them!
LegalEagle (9 months ago)
The SAT is for entrance to college. The LSAT is for entrance to law school.

Hi! I have been watching your chanel since the first video and i really like it, but i want to give you a request: it would be great to have some videos focused on how to prepare for the life after graduation, talking about law firms, what you can do to enhance your curriculum and stuff like that. I have seen you focus a lot on people that are going to law school, so maybe this kind of videos will expand your public.
LegalEagle (9 months ago)
Thanks for the ideas! We're actually working on some videos related to OCI and interviewing with firms right now.

I can't imagine being able to relax in any town or city. I think the commute would be worth it to keep my sanity
LegalEagle (11 months ago)
Different strokes for different folks. But I had a friend who commuted an hour each way (from west LA to downtown). You can't afford to lose two hours every day in law school. (I'd argue the same is true in the real world, but that is a discussion for another time).

I'm still in highschool but , I'm kinda scared about the reading ... there's a lot of reading and I'm not really good to memorize quickly :(
Heather Helsel (3 months ago)
I'm a 3L and read all the time literally sun up to sun down, but I promise you that the more you read cases the better you get. You are able to pull things out better and it will be ten times easier. Learn your study habits now. Figure out what works for you. Law school is about outlining, so its all about your notes. Learn how you note take and get comfortable with asking questions of your teachers, either in the class or at their office hours.

Read a lot of tough English literature, novels or plays. It really helps your vocabulary and overtime you'll make a habit of remembering.

Starting 1L in a couple of weeks. Surprisingly haven't heard some of these tips before. Great video.
LegalEagle (1 year ago)
Thanks, Emiliano! Law school is graded on a curve, so you have to be different to get A's. That's what we're all about.
