why m i getting this error ?? Error starting at line : 1 in command - create or replace trigger tr_startup_audit after startup on database begin insert into STARTUP_AUDIT values( ora_sysevent, sysdate, to_char(sysdate,'hh24:mm:ss')); end; Error report - ORA-00604: error occurred at recursive SQL level 1 ORA-12899: value too large for column "KARISHMA"."SCHEMA_AUDIT"."OBJECT_NAME" (actual: 16, maximum: 15) ORA-06512: at line 2 00604. 00000 - "error occurred at recursive SQL level %s" *Cause: An error occurred while processing a recursive SQL statement (a statement applying to internal dictionary tables). *Action: If the situation described in the next error on the stack can be corrected, do so; otherwise contact Oracle Support.

Hi manish, How can we achieve audit for log on and log off operation in a single code instead of creating separate triggers

u can do the trigger operation either before or after the event but not before and after ..The trigger for log on event can be called only after the occurrence of event(i.e log on) and the trigger for log off event can be called only before the occurrence of event(i.e log off)..
